Haug: "Mercedes torenhoge favoriet voor 2015"

De concurrentie is er deze winter niet in geslaagd om het gat naar Mercedes helemaal te dichten. Die conclusie trekt voormalig motorsportbaas van de Duitse autofabrikant Norbert Haug tegenover het Duitse Sky. Ferrari was snel in Jerez, maar Mercedes is nog steeds het te kloppen team.

Haug: "Voor de tests zijn geen punten te verdienen. Als dat wel zo was, dan zouden we een heel ander beeld krijgen. Ferrari heeft een grote stap vooruit gezet, maar gezien de voorsprong die Mercedes had in 2014 zijn zij ook voor komend seizoen de torenhoge favoriet."

Mercedes won vorig jaar zestien van de negentien Grands Prix. Tijdens de eerste testweek van dit jaar reed de Duitse renstal de meeste ronden van alle aanwezige teams. Alles wijst erop dat het team met de W06 Hybrid weer een wapen in handen heeft.
