Ferrari-president Marchionne verwacht snelheidsindicaties in Barcelona

Ferrari-president Sergio Marchionne tempert de verwachtingen naar aanleiding van de eerste wintertest in Jerez. De Italiaanse renstal was bovenin de tijdenlijsten te vinden, maar volgens Marchionne zullen de eerste tekenen van de snelheden van de auto's pas vanaf de eerste test in Barcelona aan het licht komen.

"Ik ben opgewonden door de prestaties van de nieuwe auto", vertelt Marchionne aan de BBC. "Er zit echter een verschil tussen het rijden van een snelle ronde, of het rijden van een complete race. Ik heb ontzettend veel vertrouwen in het werk van onze jongens. Ik ben trots op wat ze doen."

"We zullen zien wat er gebeurt als het kampioenschap van start gaat in Australië", vervolgt de Italiaan. "Ik verwacht geen wonderen, maar het is wel erg belangrijk om progressie te zien. Tijdens de tests in Barcelona verwacht ik het ultieme bewijs te krijgen voor wat we tot dusver hebben bereikt."
