Ferrari wil Manor helpen bij mogelijke comeback

Hoewel het nog verre van zeker is dat Manor, de afgelopen jaren rijdend onder de naam Marussia, komend seizoen gaat terugkeren in de Formule 1, heeft het team bijstand gekregen uit onverwachte hoek. Ferrari wil het team blijven voorzien van motoren, zo liet teambaas Maurizio Arrivabene laten weten.

Marussia verkeerde vorig jaar in financiële problemen en werd aan het einde van het seizoen onder curatele gesteld. Het team miste de laatste races van het jaar, maar werkt al maanden aan een terugkeer op de grid. Vandaag werd bekend dat het toezicht op het team is opgeheven en dat ze dus niet langer meer onder curatele staan.

Een stap in de goede richting, maar men is er nog lang niet. Voordat er over drie weken in Australië geracet kan worden, moet het team een eigen auto bouwen onder de specificaties van 2015, nadat enkele teams tegen het voorstel hebben gestemd om Manor met de auto van vorig seizoen te laten rijden.

Daarin heeft het team echter steun gekregen van Ferrari. De Italiaanse renstal is bereid om Manor ook komend seizoen van motoren te voorzien, net zoals Marussia vorig jaar al deed. Volgens Arrivabene zijn er echter nog geen handtekeningen gezet onder een overeenkomst.

Daarnaast is het ook van financieel belang dat Manor uiterlijk tijdens de Grand Prix van Bahrein op 19 april met de nieuwe auto kan rijden. Pas dan maakt het team aanspraak op het prijzengeld horende bij de negende plaats in het constructeurskampioenschap van vorig jaar. Volgens de laatste geruchten heeft het team in maart enkele crashtests in de planning staan.

Er is echt geen enkel bericht van Ferrari naar buiten gekomen waarin ze dit hebben toegegeven, dit werd altijd al aangenomen.

Paar centen erin pompen van Guttierez en Van der Garde misschien? Twee redelijk ervaren coureurs die als satelliet team van Ferrari fungeren met daarbij een paar vrijdagrijders uit het opleidingsprogramma. Klinkt wel goed al zeg ik het zelf maar hoogstwaarschijnlijk utopie.

Hoop dat er toch echt dat er 20 wagens aan de start staan in Australië natuurlijk.

  Waarom zou Ferrari Guttierez willen onderbrengen? Vergne zie ik Ferrari ook niet onderbrengen bij Manor. Geen idee wie wel...
  Als tweede betalende coureur zie ik Chilton, Stevens, en Van der Garde als kanshebbers.

Hoezo 'onverwachte hoek'? Het was toch al veel langer duidelijk dat Marussia/Manor met Ferrari-motoren zou uitkomen als ze een doorstart zouden maken? Is echt allang op buitenlandse nieuwssites gemeld hoor...

  Als schuldeiser heb je er juist belang bij dat een bedrijf niet omvalt. Dus ook in dat opzicht juist niet onverwacht.
  
  Verder heb ik nergens beweerd dat Ferrari met een bericht hier over naar buiten was gekomen. Ik zeg slechts dat op goed ingevoerde buitenlandse nieuwssites allang was gemeld dat Ferrari Marussia/Manor zou gaan helpen. Kwestie van goed bijhouden wat er zoal geschreven wordt.

Zou fantastisch nieuws zijn. Niks mooier dan een underdog verhaal, waarbij ze bij iedere stap in de goede richting in de weg werden gezeten door andere teams. Forza Manor.

Ik begin steeds meer te twijfelen. Als Manor een investeerder heeft en daadwerkelijk de 2015 spec auto gaat bouwen, dan zal er ondertussen toch wel een persconferentie zijn geweest waar Manor tekst en uitleg geeft over wie de investeerder is, wie de rijders worden etc.

Dat men pas evt. in Bahrein van start gaan ok, maar op zeker moment moeten er toch een keer duidelijke kreten komen vanuit dat team.
