Sauber, Force India en Lotus stellen 'semi-constructeurschap' voor

De teams Sauber, Force India en Lotus hebben een nieuw voorstel ingediend waardoor de renstallen in de toekomst kunnen fungeren als 'semi-constructeurs'. Als dit voorstel wordt geaccepteerd, zou dit een samenwerking tussen de teams betekenen bij het ontwikkelen van een auto.

Volgens de Duitse medium Auto Motor und Sport zouden de drie renstallen samenwerken met het ontwerpen van een standaard auto en daarnaast de windtunnel en fabricagekosten delen. De teams zouden daarna de standaard auto zelf doorontwikkelen waardoor de kosten voor de renstallen worden gedrukt.

Teambaas Monisha Kaltenborn van Sauber laat weten dat deze eventuele verandering een goede manier zou zijn om kosten te besparen: "Ik kan geen specifiek nummer geven, maar het is duidelijk dat wij nog steeds een goede show kunnen geven zonder enorm veel geld te spenderen."

De grote teams lijken echter een stokje te steken voor de semi-constructeurs. Kaltenborn is zelfs erg pessimistisch over het vinden van een oplossing voor het kostenprobleem in de Formule 1: "Als je kijkt naar de houding van de grote teams in de afgelopen jaren lijkt het er niet op dat we binnenkort tot een oplossing gaan komen."

Denken de grote teams misschien dat ze het onderspit zullen gaan delven als deze drie teams hun krachten gaan bundelen? Denk dat het nog wel mee zal vallen.

  Ik denk dat de grote teams hier tegen zijn omdat ze er voor de toekomst problemen in zien.
  
  Sauber, FI en Lotus gaan samenwerken en krijgen "semi-constructeur" status. Maar wat houdt dat verder in? Niets anders dan dat ze samenwerken? Wat gebeurt er met het constructeurskampioenschap als er teams mee doen die geen volwaardig constructeur zijn?
  
  Ga je die teams de inkomsten uit het constructeurskampioenschap afpakken? Dan los je niets op, ze gaan samenwerken om kosten te besparen maar als daarmee de inkomsten ook teruglopen heeft het weinig nut.
  
  Laat je ze de inkomsten houden en maakt het voor de verdeling van het geld niet uit of je volwaardig constructeur bent of semi-constructeur? Dat kan ook weer lastig worden, stel dat een team als Williams terug zakt en op moet gaan boksen tegen de semi constructeurs... dan is het geen eerlijke strijd meer. Of neem Torro Rosso nu die qua prestaties ook altijd rond de middenmoot zit.
  
  Kan me ook nog voorstellen dat Mercedes er niet op zit te wachten dat twee van hun klant-teams gaan samenwerken met een klant van Ferrari...

Ik vraag me af waarom de grote teams daarop tegen zouden zijn? Zijn ze misschien bang dat die kleinere teams door deze samenwerking efficienter kunnen werken en daardoor competetiever kunnen zijn?

Dit MOETEN de grote teams aanvaarden zonder enige voorwaarde, anders zijn we in 2017 nog met 10 auto's aan de start... EINDE F1 en Luca di Montezemolo kan aan zijn eigen Raceklasse beginnen (al lang 1 van zijn natte dromen)

Voel hier helemaal niks voor. Je kijkt toch F1? Dan kan je net zo goed GP2 gaan kijken. Snap die kosten issue niet zo goed. Of je gaat er voor, of je kijkt hoe ze het bij het WEC aanpakken. Daar kan het ook. Als je geen F1 kan betalen, moet je ophouden. Moet je zien hoe snel de kosten dalen als er nog maar 3 a 4 teams over zijn. Dat F1 te duur is ben ik het mee eens. Maar een eenheidsworst maken, dat is precies wat de FIA al jaren geleden zei. Ik blijf veel meer voelen om oude auto's langer te mogen gebruiken. Bijvoorbeeld met de auto uit 2013 of 2014 rijden als je dat wil. Meest kostenefficient.
