Marchionne steunt vertraging 'technische revolutie'

Sergio Marchionne ondersteunt het idee om de technische revolutie in de Formule 1 met een jaar te vertragen tot 2017. Aanvankelijk leek het erop dat Ferrari de wijzigingen juist ondersteunde door foto's te laten zien van een concept auto. Marchionne laat nu echter weten dat hij niet uitkijkt naar zulke radicaal andere auto's.

"Deze wijzigingen zouden grote problemen hebben veroorzaakt in het management van zowel Ferrari als Mercedes. We kiezen ervoor om ons uit te spreken voor grotere banden, wijdere wagens en krachtigere motoren voor 2017. Op deze manier blijven de huidige reglementen een jaar langer van kracht."

"We moeten niet te licht denken over de wijzigingen. De wagens zijn net kogels op de baan en worden niet in één nacht uitgevonden. Het is makkelijk veranderingen te maken op papier, maar je moet het ook in praktijk brengen."

    Vrij vertaald:
    We hebben wat voorbarig lopen roepen maar nu de powerunit beter lijkt en de coureurs zich happy voelen moeten we misschien volgend seizoen proberen te oogsten.

    In 2017 gewoon alles in één keer op de schop gooien. Dus zowel motorisch als het chassis. Dat is toch niet teveel gevraagd? Dat is een realistische doelstelling lijkt me. Van 2016 kon ik het me nog wel voorstellen dat het iets te vroeg zou komen. Overhaaste beslissingen zijn nooit goed, en het voorstel om in 2016 al het chassis op de schop te gooien in combinatie met bredere banden om vervolgens in 2017 pas de +1000pk motor te introduceren schiet je ook niet veel mee op.

    Gewoon alles in 2017 tegelijk. Hoeft zeker niet langer te duren. Tijd genoeg. Hoop dat er binnenkort knopen doorgehakt worden want anders wordt het straks weer 2018...

      bredere banden en krachtigere motoren wel voor 2017 zegt Marchionne.
      Radicaal andere wagens op de lange baan.
      Niet zo erg, als technische revolutie inhoud dat je allemaal van die vreemde creaties krijgt als die concept wagen die Ferrari onlangs liet zien kan het mij niet lang genoeg duren ;-)

    Vooral bredere auto's en bredere wielen klinkt als een V12 in m'n oren!
    Steeds als ik jaren 70/80beelden zie, ga ik het hardst op de breedte vd banden en de wagens. 2017... gvd, mn geduld wordt weer ns zwaar op de proef gesteld.

    Eigenlijk vind ik 2017 ook te vroeg. Op dit moment kan er nog genoeg winst geboekt worden met de motoren bijvoorbeeld. Ook lijkt het mij voor de kleinere teams beter nog even te wachten zodat de motoren ook weer een stuk goedkoper zijn. Op dit moment lijkt het me namelijk dat het wel erg duur gaat worden als alles overhoop weer opnieuw uitgevonden moet worden. Nieuwe regels gaan vaak ook gepaard met grote verschillen en weer een dominant team en ook dat lijkt me niet echt wenselijk. Toch lijkt het me stiekem super vet en heb ik de nieuwe regels liever vandaag dan morgen :D
