Technisch directeur Allison tevreden over testresultaten Ferrari

James Allison, technisch directeur van Ferrari, is tevreden met de verrichte werkzaamheden van zijn team tijdens de wintertests. Ferrari lijkt met de SF15-T een stap voorwaarts te hebben gezet en ook de nieuwe krachtbron lijkt een verbetering.

Kimi Raikkonen en Sebastian Vettel hebben flink wat kilometers afgelegd tijdens de tests, maar volgens Allison zijn race-afstanden tijdens testdagen niet te vergelijken met Grands Prix op zondagen. Toch is hij van mening dat de SF15-T een "goed gemanierde auto is".

"We hebben veel kilometers gemaakt deze winter, maar je bent pas voorbereid voor het echte werk in Melbourne als je een race-afstand kunt afleggen waarbij je enkel stopt voor bandenwissels", aldus Allison. "We hebben gisteren onze eerste race-afstand afgelegd en gelukkig ging het bij de eerste poging direct goed. We zijn tevreden met de betrouwbaarheid die we lieten zien."

"Ik ben tevreden met ons testwerk van de afgelopen dagen, want onze auto werkt zoals we hadden verwacht. Wintertests in Europa vragen altijd net wat anders van een auto dan wanneer je test in Bahrein, maar het is geen verschil van dag en nacht."

"Het meeste wat hier getoond wordt van een auto, komt ook boven water op de andere Grand Prix-circuits gedurende het jaar. Wat mij betreft zien we een goed gemanierde auto, dus we verwachten dat deze karakteristieken ook tentoon gespreid worden tijdens de andere races gedurende het seizoen."

Ergens positief, maar het wordt denk ik alsnog even slikken als we straks Mercedes aan het werk zien in Melbourne en beseffen dat we het echt moeten gaan hebben van de strijd achter Mercedes i.p.v. met Mercedes... Maar ik hoop dat Ferrari (en Williams) positief verassen in Melbourne!

Zo ik zeg positief nieuws. Nu eens kijken wat het de rode rakkers gaat brengen de komende race weekeinde. Heb er in ieder geval meer zin in dan de afgelopen paar jaren.

Ik heb het idee dat de Ferrari voor 2015 beter mee kan komen dan de Ferrari's van de afgelopen jaren.

Zal het toeval zijn of heeft de reorganisatie en het werk van Raikkonen/Vettel echt geholpen?

Ik ben benieuwd in ieder geval :)

  Kwam allemaaaaal door Alonso, lijkt me duidelijk. Nu is het McLaren's probleem en je ziet wat er van komt. ;)

  Hand van Vettel zien we hier nog niet in. Alle lof gaat naar de gevestigde orde en dan met namen Allison en Kimi zeg ik als Vettel fan.

Ferrari lijkt het er wat beter dan eind vorig jaar voor te staan, maar eigenlijk is het best triest dat zij jaren klagen dat de F1 een vliegshow was geworden waarbij het alleen maar om de aërodynamica ging, nu eindelijk mechanische grip en helemaal de motor belangrijk zijn..... En ze moeten nu dus blij zijn als ze niet het 5e, maar het 3e team zijn????

Heerlijk dat Ferrari zijn zaakjes op orde heeft. Zo'n roemruchte team moet ieder jaar een paar races winnen op zijn minst. Als Vettel dit een race wint wat zal Alonso dan balen. Ik zie hem bij McLaren dit jaar totaal niet winnen. Hij moest maar nog een jaartje blijven maar heeft hoog spel, blufpoker, en verliren

  Bedoelde: Alonso heeft hoogspel gespeeld, blufpoker, en verloren.
  Toen Luca di M vertrok en Domenicali had hij geen familia meer. En Vettel legde een bom onder hem toen hij stiekem bij zijn dreamteam tekende. Alonso wil nu met Lewis ruilen vlg jaar maar dan wil Lewis wel eerst opnieuw WK worden. Die clausule wil hij in zijn nwe contract bij Merc maar die willen hem voor 3 jaar vastleggen.
  Alonso moet bij een groot team WK worden voor hij stopt. Na zijn 2e WK zei zijn vader tegen hem: Fernando je bent nu opnieuw WK maar je bent nog niet "de grote". Dat wordt he alleen met een topteam, een groot team. En die arme man wil dat stukje droom ook erbij.
