Pirelli kondigt banden voor eerste vier races aan

Pirelli heeft de bandenselectie voor de eerste vier Grands Prix van 2015 bekend gemaakt. De keuze is exact hetzelfde als een jaar geleden. Over anderhalve week voltrekt het openingsweekend in Australië zich met zacht en medium als de beschikbare compounds voor teams en coureurs.

Twee weken later in Maleisië neemt de Italiaanse bandenfabrikant de medium en harde banden mee. Voor de laatste twee races van overzeese eerste fase van de jaargang, in China en Bahrein, is de keuze van Pirelli gevallen op de zachte en medium compounds.

Pirelli verklaart in het persbericht verder dat de constructie van de achterbanden is veranderd ten opzichte van vorig jaar om de krachten en temperatuur meer evenredig over het rubber te verdelen. Dat heeft voor de eerste vier races echter geen andere tactiek tot gevolg.

    Laat de teams het zelf beslissen welke banden ze willen voor de eerste races.

      @Maxkimi: Dat is makkelijk gezegd maar dat betekent dat Pirelli dus van iedere band er voor ieder team voldoende mee moet nemen. Dat zal logistiek best een probleem zijn en behoorlijk prijzig.

      Als je als alternatief ze per team van te voren laat kiezen welke banden ze willen gebruiken dan kan het zijn dat ze dus weken van tevoren een race al hebben verpest door een verkeerde bandenkeuze.

      Zo makkelijk als je het hier voorstelt is het helaas niet.

      inderdaad, dan zouden ze duizenden extra banden mee moeten nemen iedere race, dan word het alleen maar nog meer onbetaalbaar.

      Nou, dan maken we het toch extra spannend door Pirelli van elke bandensoort (behoudens regenbanden, waarvan er om veiligheidsreden altijd voldoende moeten zijn) een beperkte hoeveelheid mee te laten nemen die 75% van het veld kan voorzien.

      Vervolgens moeten de teams tijdens VT1 hun keuze voor het weekend bekend maken aan Pirelli en worden ze uitgegeven volgens het molenaarsprincipe: wie het eerst komt, het eerst maalt. Teams en/of coureurs die treuzelen lopen dan het risico niet met hun eerste keuze banden te kunnen gaan racen.

      Als dit zou worden ingevoerd dan wordt de vrijdag ineens een stuk spannender! :-)
