Politiek frustreert Monza met belastingwetgeving

De obstakels voor Monza om de Grand Prix van Italië te behouden worden alsmaar talrijker. Dit keer zit de politiek het beroemde Autodromo Nazionale dwars met nieuwe belastingregels. Monza raakt een aantal belastinguitzonderingen kwijt en dat kost het circuit zo'n 20 miljoen euro.

Pogingen om die beslissing terug te draaien zijn mislukt, meldt Il Cittadino. Tot woede van politicus Paolo Grimandi. "We hebben om geen cent aan steun gevraagd, alleen dat ze bureaucratisch iets wilden bekrachtigen. Het is onaanvaardbaar dat de overheid tegen de Italiaanse Grand Prix is."

Andrea dell'Orto, baas van Sias dat de dagelijkse leiding over het circuit van Monza heeft, kan zich daar in Il Giorno alleen maar bij aansluiten. "Het is een serieuze kwestie, helemaal omdat de aanpassing geen geld kostte. Nu vraag ik maar een persoonlijk onderhoud met premier Matteo Renzi aan."

Wat een onzin zeg! Ik had Bild al niet hoog zitten, maar dit slaat nergens op. Alsof een heel bedrijf niet aan het werk wil gaan omdat ze precies willen weten wat een zieke collega mankeert... Mag wettelijk niet eens...

      Alleen geen Italiaanse GP zal Ferrari niet zo snel accepteren. Ik denk dat die ook alles in het werk stellen om dat te voorkomen.

      Mee eens. Kijk eens naar Red Bull. Die kopen een compleet circuit op. Overigens ook een circuit met historie, echter flink verziekt door Tilke.

      Anderzijds lijken steeds meer circuits de laatste tijd moeite te krijgen met de absurde bedragen die worden gevraagd door Ecclestone.
      Zo hebben we Korea die al is afgehaakt , de Duitse (!) GP staat flink op de tocht , Maleisie die twijfelt om door te gaan, en ook Rusland (!) begint te twijfelen.

      Zo simpel ligt het nou ook weer niet; dit heeft niet alleen te maken met de Formule 1 maar met alles wat er op Monza gebeurt. Probleem is dat de meeste organisatoren eigenlijk een zooitje luie flikkers is wat niet veel verder komt als een evenement halen, proberen zoveel mogelijk kaarten te verkopen en that's it. Het is toch van de zotte dat rondom een F1 weekend er niets georganiseerd wordt in de vorm van een fatsoenlijk aanvullend programma, fan zones, veel meer toegankelijkheid voor de fans, mogelijkheden om door een professioneel coureur het circuit rond gereden te worden op bijvoorbeeld een donderdag. Entertainment, sociale media, er wordt niets mee gedaan. En dan piepen als ze belasting moeten betalen! Het is toch van de zotte dat er eerst een circuit in leven gehouden moet worden met gemeenschapsgeld en dat diezelfde gemeenschap daar niets van terugziet omdat er allerlei slinkse belastingtrucs en voordeeltjes zijn! Ik snap dat ze het niet leuk vinden, maar ik denk dat wij het ook niet leuk vinden om jaarlijks naar de fiscus over te maken. Ik ook niet, maar ik snap dat er weinig van de grond komt in dit land als er niemand meer belasting betaald. Monza moet eens in de spiegel kijken en niet gokken op hun historische reputatie als drukmiddel om op de kalender te blijven staan.
