'Uiterlijk dit weekend uitsluitsel over Duitsland'

De tijd begint te dringen voor de Grand Prix van Duitsland. Bernie Ecclestone verlangt uiterlijk dit weekend uitsluitsel over het evenement. De Duitse race staat op losse schroeven door gesteggel tussen de Nürburgring en de Hockenheimring enerzijds en Ecclestone anderzijds.

De Nürburgring is na diverse wisselingen van management niet in het bezit van een contract. Het circuit in de Duitse Eifel is bereid de organisatie aan Ecclestone te laten en een klein verlies te lijden, maar Ecclestone voelt zich gepasseerd na een afgewezen bod op de baan en hanteert dezelfde prijzen als voor andere Europese Grands Prix.

Dat is ook precies waar de Hockenheimring tegenaan hikt. Dat circuit is best bereid om elk jaar de Grand Prix van Duitsland te huisvesten, maar niet tegen de torenhoge kosten die ze momenteel voor het evenement ophoesten. Mercedes heeft toegezegd te bemiddelen in de gesprekken met Ecclestone, vooralsnog zonder resultaat.

Het uur U nadert nu voor de Duitsers. Ecclestone beantwoordde de vraag van persbureau DPA wanneer hij duidelijkheid over de Duitse Grand Prix wil met: "Toch wel uiterlijk dit weekend. Ik weet niet zeker of het gaat lukken."

Toch jammer, straks hebben we alleen 4 landen (Engeland, Belgie, Spanje, en Hongarije) die hier in Europa een GP organiseren als Duitsland en Italie verdwijnen. Belachelijk gewoon. Terwijl bijna alle teams uit Europa komen. Ecclestone moet lekker met pensioen gaan

    Zou belachelijk zijn als deze race niet door gaat. Duitsland is een van de grootste autosport landen, heeft de laatste jaren de meeste coureurs in de Formule 1 gehad en de beste constructeur komt op dit moment uit Duitsland. Ik vind dat de teams trouwens ook veel meer inspraak moeten krijgen in de kalender. Iedere motorleverancier hoort toch gewoon een thuis grandprix te krijgen? Daarnaast denk ik dat ook de meeste sponsoren nogsteeds meer geinteresseerd zijn in Europa dan in het Midden-Oosten. Dat de kalender naar nieuwe landen gaat vind ik geen probleem en juist goed, maar ik heb het idee dat er op dit moment veelte weinig aan de toekomst wordt gedacht. Tradities en historie zijn misschien wel het belangrijkste een groot sportevenement met aanzien te blijven.

    Kan op de één of andere manier die oude Hockenheimring in ere hersteld worden? Een zeer speciaal circuit samen met Monza.

    Daar waar jarenlang minimaal 4 Duitsche coureurs reden is het dit jaar met Vettel, Rosberg en Hulkenberg voor Duitschland wel magertjes.
