Frank Williams wil minstens vijftien races bijwonen

Frank Williams is weer helemaal hersteld na een periode in het ziekenhuis. De oprichter en baas van het team van Williams had last van doorligplekken en moest daaraan geopereerd worden. De Brit is bijna weer de oude en is vol energie om ook dit jaar de Formule 1-circuits af te struinen.

Williams is weer aan het werk en hij is van plan om dit jaar minstens vijftien Grands Prix bij te wonen, meldt The Telegraph. "Ik ben zeven dagen per week in de fabriek te vinden, ik hou gewoon van wat ik doe", zegt de man die al sinds 1986 in een rolstoel zit.

In dochter Claire Williams heeft hij iemand gevonden die een deel van zijn taken over kan nemen en misschien is zij wel zijn opvolger. Frank Williams: "Claire is zeer ijverig en blinkt uit in haar huidige rol. Ik zie haar wel de zaken runnen."
