Ecclestone: "Duitse Grand Prix momenteel dood"

Bernie Ecclestone heeft de geruchten dat de Grand Prix van Duitsland dit seizoen niet doorgaat versterkt. De Brit zegt namelijk dat de race bij onze Oosterburen momenteel 'dood' is.

De Nürburgring zou dit jaar een evenement moeten organiseren, maar heeft hiervoor nog steeds geen contract getekend. Een tijd geleden werd gesuggereerd dat Hockenheim deze leegte eventueel kan opvullen, maar ook rondom dat circuit is het nu angstig stil.

Tegenover The Independent zei Ecclestone: "De Duitse Grand Prix is momenteel dood. Het zal niet vervangen worden als het niet doorgaat. Net als bij elke andere race; als het geannuleerd wordt dan wordt het ook echt geannuleerd. Er is niet veel wat wij hieraan kunnen doen".

De Grand Prix van Duitsland staat momenteel gepland voor 19 juli.
