Stoppen met Formule 1 geen optie voor Renault

Renault is niet van plan om de handdoek in de ring te gooien nu het even tegen zit. De Franse autofabrikant beleefde afgelopen weekend een valse start aan het seizoen 2015. De betrouwbaarheid en de snelheid van de Renault V6 lieten in Melbourne flink te wensen over.

Dat kwam de motorleverancier op veel kritiek van Red Bull Racing en Scuderia Toro Rosso te staan. Renault onderzoekt de mogelijkheden om een bestaande renstal over te nemen om weer een eigen fabrieksteam aan de start te brengen. Stoppen met de Formule 1 is geen optie.

"Geen kans", antwoordde Renault Sport F1-baas Cyril Abiteboul op de vraag van Autosport of Renault door de negatieve publiciteit misschien de Formule 1 de rug toe zou keren. "Ik ga liever op zoek naar een manier waarmee we vooruit kunnen."

"We kijken ook naar de situatie van de sport als geheel. Niet alleen naar de teams, maar ook naar de zakelijke kant en de kijkcijfers. Renault wil de Formule 1 niet verlaten. Dit is een geweldig marketing platform voor wat we willen bereiken in landen als China en India."

      Ja Erwinnaar, een Marketingplatform. Dat is het voor alle fabrikanten. Ze zitten er niet voor de lol. Het gaat tegenwoordig alleen maar om de verkopen. En door te winnen krijg je meer exposure. Als het helemaal niets meer op zou leveren dan is het zo klaar

      Idd tsja :) Wij zij Renault, we bouwen trage onbetrouwbare motoren en vragen daar de hoofdprijs voor :) zoiets als, slechte publiciteit is ook exposure? :)

    Beetje lompe vraag van Autosport, seizoen is net begonnen natuurlijk zeggen ze dan niet dat ze stoppen met de F1 (ook als Renault dat overwogen zou hebben). Maar er waren toch geruchten dat Renault een team wilde opkopen of klopt dat niet?.

    Mooie reactie van Renault.
    Weer een sneer naar Red Bull.

    Red Bull wil opgeven als het niet lukt, Renault wil dat juist niet.
    Die mannen zijn geen vriendjes meer :-)

    Jammer dat dit niet een week eerder speelde, toen kon Giedo nog een team overnemen, of i.i.g. wat aandelen er van, samen met Renault was het misschien wat makkelijker geworden :-)
