Manor honderd procent zeker dat ze rijklaar zijn

Teambaas John Booth is er helemaal zeker van dat Manor morgen in de eerste vrije training voor de Maleisische Grand Prix de eerste meters van 2015 maakt. De Britse renstal is op de vingers getikt nadat ze in Australië in geen enkele sessie de baan op gingen. Bernie Ecclestone trekt daardoor zelfs 2,6 miljoen euro van het prijzengeld dat Manor tegoed heeft af, verklaarde hij in The Independent.

Op de vraag van Autosport of het team nu wel klaar is om te rijden, antwoordde Booth: "Ja, honderd procent zeker. We hebben veel progressie geboekt in Australië en een boel software-problemen waren op zondagmiddag al verholpen, want we hebben niet stil gezeten in Melbourne. De opbouw van de auto's is hier probleemloos verlopen en morgen om tien uur lokale tijd gaan we naar buiten voor de eerste sessie."

"Met deze wagens ben je continu bezig met problemen oplossen, maar we denken dat we nu in de positie zijn om de bolides aan te zwengelen zodra de batterijen gemonteerd zijn. De auto's zijn mechanisch reeds geprepareerd in Australië. Daar hadden we nu in Maleisië niet veel werk aan. Het was meer een kwestie van controles uitvoeren en alle configuraties checken."

Ze hebben net de Fire-up gedaan van de motor! Goed nieuws dus.. Met kleine stapjes vooruit, maar ik ben erg benieuwd naar de betrouwbaarheid!

Nog niet eens te spreken over de snelheid: met een omgebouwde 2014 auto, een 2014 motor en 0 km testkilometers met de auto/nieuwe banden.. Dat ook nog is met 2 onervaren /matige coureurs..

Ja ik gun het Manor (grotendeels door Bianchi en zijn optreden in Monaco), maar verder ben ik weinig hoopvol over een succesvol weekend.

  Zeg maar één matig en één best wel goed in F1 onervaren piloot.
  Volgens mij hoeft Merhi niet onder te doen voor Bianchi.
