Renault ontwaart licht aan einde van de tunnel

Renault is ervan overtuigd dat beterschap op komst is. Renault Sport F1-directeur Cyril Abiteboul zat vandaag met enkele teambazen bij de persconferentie in Sepang en zei: "We denken licht aan het einde van de tunnel te zien en de tunnel is korter dan velen denken."

Over de speculatie over de toekomst van Renault in de Formule 1 had hij ook nog het een en ander te melden. "We kijken naar alle opties, waaronder het overnemen van een bestaand team, maar ook ons terugtrekken uit de Formule 1 als we het gevoel hebben dat het niet werkt voor ons."

Scuderia Toro Rosso-teambaas Franz Tost was ook aanwezig bij de persconferentie en haakte daar op in. Hij wrijft zich al in de handen bij de gedachte dat Renault zijn renstal overneemt. "Dat zou voor ons een fantastische mogelijkheid zijn om de volgende stap te maken."
