Nieuwe Ferrari zal tijdens Spaanse GP debuteren

Ferrari zal zijn nieuwe auto hoogstwaarschijnlijk pas inzetten tijdens de Grand Prix van Spanje in Barcelona op 8 mei. Dit is de vijfde race van het seizoen.

Het team dat de afgelopen vijf jaar de hele Formule 1 haar wil oplegde zal met een aangepaste F2004 het seizoen aanvangen. Deze tactiek werkte de afgelopen twee jaren uitstekend.

Ferrari zet de nieuwe auto pas later in, omdat er heel erg veel reglement veranderingen zijn. De autos krijgen hierdoor vooral minder neerwaartse druk.

Teambaas Jean Todt zei:De nieuwe auto zal al gepresenteerd worden voordat er races verreden zijn. Dit zal ergens eind februari gebeuren.

We starten het 2005 seizoen met de F2004B. Deze zal aangepast worden aan de nieuwe regels. Ons programma vereist dat we de eerste vier races van het jaar met deze auto rijden. We willen ons gewoon goed aanpassen aan de nieuwe eisen. Eerst willen we ervoor zorgen dat de motor twee Grand Prix weekenden meekan en daarna zetten we de nieuwe auto in.

De nieuwe auto zal wel eerder rijklaar zijn. Zoals gezegd presenteren we hem ergens eind februari en vanaf dat moment zullen we er ook mee testen, aldus Todt.
