Vettel predikt realisme op weg naar Chinese GP

Sebastian Vettel heeft zich het hoofd niet op hol laten brengen door zijn even indrukwekkende als onverwachte overwinning in Maleisië. Voor het eerst in bijna twee jaar stond Ferrari weer op de hoogste trede van het podium. Dat heeft de hoop op meer succes aangewakkerd in de harten van de tifosi, maar in principe is Mercedes nog net iets beter.

Dat probeert Vettel uit te dragen. "We zijn realistisch over waar we staan, onze doelstellingen zijn niet gewijzigd. Het was geweldig om te winnen in Maleisië, een emotionele dag. Het was ook zeer speciaal om in de week daarna de fabriek te bezoeken en de blijdschap bij iedereen op de werkvloer te zien. Ferrari had al een tijdje niet meer gewonnen, het is leuk om ze dat gevoel weer te geven."

"Maar Mercedes bevindt zich nog steeds in een goede uitgangspositie. De snelheid van Ferrari was echt, Mercedes hield zich niet in op Sepang. Het was echter ook een samenloop van omstandigheden. De komende races kan het nog een beetje op en neer gaan. Hopelijk meer op dan neer, maar het is belangrijk om reëel te blijven. Het is zaak om onszelf steeds meer als de uitdager van Mercedes te presenteren en het gat alsmaar te verkleinen."

Vettel heeft er in ieder geval voor gezorgd dat ik men enthousiasme moet temperen, dat was 2 week geleden nog wel even anders!
Ik kan echt niet wachten op de grote ingrijpende updates van Ferrari!

  Als een van de 2 Ferrari mannen Rosberg van een 2e plek in het WDC weet te verdrijven beschouw ik dat als een grote overwinning en stiekem hoop ik op een strijd om plek 1 in zowel WDC als het WCC

Weet iemand nu al of ze met de laatste motorversie reden de laatste race? Weet wel dat bij de eerste race men nog de versie van daarvoor reed welke het in de testen het ook goed deed. De versie waar ze de allerlaatste testen mee hebben gereden zou men later introduceren ivm betrouwbaarheid namelijk, weet alleen niet of deze vorige GP was geintroduceerd of dat we een nog sterker Ferrari mogen verwachten op dat front. Hoor het graag van jullie collega's ;-)

  In Maleisië reden ze volgens mij nog met de motor zoals gebruikt in Australië. De motor met de updates die ze in de laatste test gebruikt hebben en later introduceren is nog niet ingezet. Voor zover ik weet, is het plan om die in mei in te gaan zetten. Waarschijnlijk dus rond de Gp van Spanje. Alleen dit weet ik niet exact natuurlijk, maar het laatste wat ik er over gelezen heb. Als dit zo is, kan Ferrari dus nog een groot stuk sneller.

  Nu we het toch over motoren hebben, weet iemand hoe dit zit qua regelgeving omtrent de maximaal vier te gebruiken motoren? Mag je de tokens gewoon inzetten op de huidige motor en word dit niet als nieuwe motor beschouwd? Of zien ze dit als nieuwe motor, waardoor je dus in feite een van de vier motoren gebruikt heb bijvoorbeeld?
