Ferrari houdt titelverwachtingen voorlopig klein

Ferrari boekte twee weken geleden haar eerste overwinning in jaren, en lijkt momenteel het enige team te zijn dat het Mercedes lastig kan maken. Toch probeert James Allison, de technische man bij Ferrari, de verwachten voor een eventuele titel laag te houden.

"Mercedes heeft meer kracht in de motor," laat hij in China weten. "Ook hebben ze meer downforce dan ons. Wij moeten ons eerst op die twee punten verbeteren voordat wij realistisch over een eventuele titel kunnen praten. Daar is het gat nu nog te groot voor."

Ook Sebastian Vettel houdt Ferrari momenteel in de underdogpositie ten opzichte van Mercedes: "We hebben pas twee races gereden. Laten wij vooral geduld hebben. Ons doel momenteel is eerste te worden achter Mercedes, en dat is ons op vrijdag in ieder geval gelukt."

Goede houding. Anders dan de voorbije jaren waar ze net iets te hard en te vaak beloftes maakten. Laat hen maar verder aan mekaar wennen en een stevige basis leggen zodat ze in 2016 volop voor alle titels kunnen gaan.
