Symonds: "Windtunnels zijn geen dinosaurustechnologie"

Pat Symonds, Chief Technical Officer bij Williams, heeft laten weten fel voor windtunnels te zijn. Bob Fernley van Force India zei twee weken geleden dat de Formule 1 juist op moderne ontwikkelingstechnieken moet focussen, zoals CFD. Een windtunnel is volgens Fernley een 'dinosaurustechnologie'.

Symonds is het daar absoluut niet mee eens: "Onze windtunnels zijn alles behalve dinosaurustechnologieën. Als een methode een tijd gebruikt wordt, betekent dat niet dat het ouderwets is. Auto's worden ook al heel lang gebruikt, is dat ook een dinosaurustechnologie?"

"Misschien moet Bob eens langskomen en een blik werpen op een goede windtunnel. Dan kan hij zien hoe geavanceerd ze eigenlijk zijn."

    Geheel offtopic (maar op de betreffende artikel kan ik niet reageren);
    Het artikel hieronder is een 100% advertentie.
    Dus na de honderden irritante pop-ups en de tientallen advertentie vakken in de pagina worden er dus vanaf nu ook advertenties als "onderwerp" gepost?!?

    Ik begrijp dat er inkomsten gegenereerd worden met advertenties maar dit begint toch wel een beetje belachelijk de overhand te nemen vind de redactie (of web beheerder) dat ook niet?
    De bezoeker wordt eerst weggejaagd door de vele popups, en moet daarna naar de F1 artikelen zoeken in deze brei van advertenties.

      Bedenk je ook dat mede dankzij deze partners de redactie in staat is deze site dagelijks meer dan 10 uur per dag te onderhouden. Je bent niet verplicht hier te komen. Over een tijdje kun je ook op de betaalversie van de website deze advertentieposities afkopen, dus dat zou ook een optie kunnen zijn.

      Zoals hierboven al door de redactie aangegeven gaat het hier over een zogenaamde Advertorial. Dit was niet duidelijk aangegeven in eerste instantie dit was een vergissing van onze kant, daarom heb ik zojuist de titel aangepast. Hierdoor is in één oogopslag te zien dat het een zogenaamde Advertorial gaat welke een voordeel kan opleveren voor de bezoekers van F1Today.
      Hopende je hiermee voldoende geïnformeerd te hebben.

      PS. Wat het filter betreft, sommige berichten komen daar nou eenmaal in, zodra dat het geval is moeten deze berichten met de hand geactiveerd worden. Wacht gewoon geduldig af, door onrustig te gaan reageren zorg je er niet voor dat dit proces sneller gaat.

      Bedankt voor jullie reactie.
      Jullie hoeven je niet te verantwoorden voor enige advertenties want (zoals ik ook in mijn reactie heb aangegeven) begrijp ik het nut en de reden van advertenties op websites.
      Maar....
      het moet niet de overhand gaan nemen!
      Nu lijkt het wel of advertenties het doel van deze site is (en F1 nieuws als bijkomstig iets wordt beschouwd).
