Hamilton verwacht geen eenvoudige race in China

Lewis Hamilton heeft in China zijn derde pole position op rij weten te veroveren. De Brit was nipt sneller dan teamgenoot Nico Rosberg, terwijl het gat naar de Ferrari van Sebastian Vettel riant is. Toch verwacht Hamilton geen eenvoudige race op zondag.

"Ik denk dat het circuit hier in China over het algemeen een goed circuit voor me is en ik voel me altijd positief in de auto hier", aldus Hamilton. "De auto doet het geweldig dit weekend, een stuk beter dan twee weken geleden in Maleisië.

"Het team blijft het gewoon ontzettend goed doen. De mannen in de fabriek hebben uitstekend werk verricht door zich te herpakken na de laatste race met wat verbeteringen. Ik ben daar erg dankbaar voor."

Terugkijkend op het moeizame weekend in Maleisië, weet Hamilton dat er verschillende zaken misgingen. "Er is teveel om op te noemen, maar het was overduidelijk dat het niet ons beste weekend ooit was daar."

"We hebben met de jongens aan mijn kant van de garage dit weekend gewoon geprobeerd ons volledige programma af te werken, en we hebben geen problemen gehad. Dat was een grote stap voor ons, maar er wacht ons een zware race morgen. Nico is ontzettend snel en ook de Ferrari's zijn goed met hun lange runs. Het is nog niet voorbij hier."
