Nieuwe specificatie Honda-motor vanaf Spanje

Honda voert komend weekend in Bahrein de capaciteiten van de aandrijflijn op en stelt bij de Spaanse Grand Prix een nieuwe specificatie van de V6 beschikbaar. Dat liet Eric Boullier, racing director bij McLaren, weten. Honda begint zich langzaam maar zeker steeds comfortabeler te voelen in de Formule 1 en legt de lat alsmaar wat hoger.

Boullier: "We weten welke stap we met de motor nog kunnen zetten. Komend weekend gaat de capaciteit al omhoog en in Barcelona krijgen we de beschikking over een nieuwe specificatie. We blijven dus verbeteren. In China boekten we veel progressie op gebied van betrouwbaarheid, waardoor we de kracht nu op kunnen schroeven. We weten dat we nog meer potentie aan kunnen boren met deze motor, dat is fijn."

"Ik plak geen datum meer op wanneer we competitief denken te zijn. We introduceren elke race upgrades. De krachtbron bevat veel potentieel. Honda is ambitieus geweest, maar om Mercedes te verslaan moet je beter zijn dan zij. We weten dat er veel op komst is op dat vlak voor de Europese campagne en ook aerodynamisch hebben we een pakket vernieuwingen in de pijplijn voor Spanje. Het doel is om voor het einde van het seizoen competitief te zijn."

    Als McLaren fan zijn is nu even lijden...
    Het gaat wel tijd kosten maar het zal uiteindelijk wel goed koen :)

      Och, McLaren heeft in ieder geval nog contact met het middenveld. Het zijn slechts tienden van een seconde om daarin naar voren te komen. Gezien de staat van de ontwikkeling van hun auto en motor moet dat geen probleem zijn. Maar die laatste stappen, om Williams, Ferrari en Mercedes bij te halen, dat wordt een ander verhaal... Maar na de wintertests ben ik nu al aangenaam verrast door wat ze in de races kunnen laten zien.

    als ze zo door gaan met ontwikkeling dan kunnen ze misschien dit jaarweleen race winnen las ze tenminste betrouwbaar zijn.ze hebben de mercedes motor van vorige jaar goed bestudeert en met hun eigen concept beter gemaakt .

      Heb je een bron van jouw laatste zin? Of is het een aanname?

      Want van wat ik heb gelezen is de Honda motor namelijk compleet anders. Lijkt in de verste verte niet op die van Mercedes.

      Er is een bron ja.maar dat is achter de schermen .daarom kreeg McLaren vorige jaar ook niet de volledige kracht van Mercedes motor.met het concept bedoel ik .dat Honda de motor en ers systeem in zit terwijl bij MB los is .dus hun eigen draai .maar de spec van de MB van vorige jaar .we zullen zien hoe het in Spanje aan toe gaat ben benieuwd
