Daniel Ricciardo bekroond met Laureus Award

Red Bull Racing-coureur Daniel Ricciardo heeft een Laureus Award in de wacht gesleept. De Australiër is onderscheiden voor zijn definitieve doorbraak in de Formule 1. Ricciardo won vorig jaar drie races op weg naar een derde plek in de eindstand.

Kampioenen Mercedes en Lewis Hamilton zijn niet in de prijzen gevallen. Mercedes moest de award voor Team van het Jaar laten aan de Duitse nationale voetbalploeg en Hamilton zag tennisser Novak Djokovic met de prijs voor Sportman van het Jaar aan de haal gaan.
