Nico Rosberg: "Ik zou het weer zo aanpakken"

Mercedes-coureur Nico Rosberg heeft geen greintje spijt van zijn opmerkingen aan het adres van Lewis Hamilton na afloop van de Chinese Grand Prix. De Duitser betichtte de regerend wereldkampioen van opzettelijk langzamer rijden om hem in de problemen te brengen met een jagende Sebastian Vettel in zijn kielzog. Dat kwam Rosberg op veel kritiek te staan.

Hij trekt zich daar niks van aan. "Ik vond dat het nodig was om de feiten te formuleren. Anderen zagen ook de noodzaak om het een en ander te bespreken, niet alleen ik. Ik zou het weer zo aanpakken. Ik zou niks anders doen. Voor mij is dit al afgesloten, hoewel de media het nog oprakelt. We hebben het zondagavond besproken en daarmee was de lucht geklaard. Het was een constructieve vergadering met de teamleiding en we hebben er een punt achter gezet."

"Het is geen mening, het zijn feiten. Ik heb nooit mijn mening gegeven, alleen de feiten. Die feiten zijn niet veranderd. Feiten blijven feiten. We hebben intern afspraken gemaakt voor het geval dat een eventuele één-twee in het geding komt, zoals met de aandringende Ferrari van Vettel in China. Dan grijpt het team in om te zorgen dat we het resultaat over de streep trekken, zoals met de opdracht voor Lewis om te versnellen. Er zit voor mij nu niets anders op dan op de baan antwoorden."

Niet te veel oprakelen.
Ik begrijp beide kanten van het verhaal maar Nico moet niet hypocriet doen.
Hij had hetzelfde gedaan en misschien wel verder gegaan. Zie Monaco en Spa, dat is ie voor het gemak vergeten.

    Ai, dat gaat helemaal fout gaan. Hij gaat weer zo'n stommiteit doen als vorig jaar omdat hij denk dat Hamilton vals speelt.

    Ik denk dat Nico het contact met de fans is verloren, en niet in de gaten heeft dat hij door zijn gedrag veel fans aan het verliezen is.

      Volgens mij heeft hij nooit echt veel fans gehad, zelfs in Duitsland niet en hebben ze het alleen nog maar over Vettel.

    En dit is precies waarom hij nooit Lewis zou verslaan om het wdc , 1 race of 4 zou hij hem best kunnen verslaan maar 1 op 1 zonder pech lukt hem dat nooit

    @Het was een constructieve vergadering met de teamleiding en we hebben er een punt achter gezet.

    Dat is al zovaak gedaan. Al die punten stapelen zich op en blijven hangen in de koppies waardoor de spanningen steeds hoger op lopen en de ongunst richting elkaar steeds groter wordt.

    Ik hoop voor Nico dat hij dit weekend weer wat kan laten zien. Gaat echt bergafwaarts momenteel... Nico is mentaal al niet de sterkste.
