Hamilton: "Bandenmanagement wordt cruciaal"

Lewis Hamilton start de Grand Prix van Bahrein vanaf pole position. De Brit reed een ijzersterke ronde en troefde daarmee Sebastian Vettel met vier tienden af. Hamilton is erg te spreken over zijn Mercedes, maar de regerend wereldkampioen rekent op een felle strijd morgen.

"Ik ben ontzettend blij, want dit was het doel", aldus Hamilton na afloop van de kwalificatie. "Ik voel me comfortabel in de auto en de rondes waren erg goed. We blijven ons verbeteren en ik ben erg dankbaar voor deze auto. Ik kon de bochten ook echt goed aanvallen."

Ondanks zijn goede auto, verwacht Hamilton een sterk Ferrari in de race. "Ferrari is erg sterk in hun racepace. Hopelijk helpen onze startposities, maar ze zullen er morgen dicht op zitten. Ik denk dat bandenmanagement morgen cruciaal wordt."
