De la Rosa: "James Key is een aanwinst voor Sauber"

James Key is sinds vorige week werkzaam als technisch directeur bij het team van Sauber. In China was hij meteen getuige van de problematische situatie van de Zwitserse renstal. De C29 komt snelheid tekort en is onbetrouwbaar met één finish in vier Grands Prix.

Coureur Pedro de la Rosa rekent op beterschap nu Key in dienst is bij Sauber. De Spanjaard deelde aan Autosport mede: James is een goede kerel. Hij begrijpt wat een auto nodig heeft om sneller te gaan en ondanks zijn jeugdige leeftijd beschikt hij over veel ervaring. Hij is een grote aanwinst voor ons en ik verheug me op de samenwerking met hem.

Tijdens het weekend in Shanghai liet hij al blijken dat hij weet waarover hij praat. Hij kent onze zwaktes en is er al mee bezig. Het is positief om af en toe iemand met frisse ideeën aan te trekken, bij de grote teams zie je ook elke twee, drie jaar nieuwe mensen komen. James weet wat een moderne Formule 1-auto snel maakt en het is goed van Sauber dat ze hem aangetrokken hebben.
