Horner: "Moraal binnen Red Bull Racing is oké"

De sfeer binnen Red Bull Racing heeft niet te lijden onder de tegenvallende prestaties dit jaar. Dat beweert teambaas Christian Horner. De honger en de motivatie om terug te keren aan de top zijn immer aanwezig bij de viervoudig wereldkampioen bij de constructeurs.

Horner: "We stropen de mouwen op en focussen ons op de onderdelen waar wij zelf wat aan kunnen doen, dus de moraal is oké. Men baalt, dat is logisch als je gewend bent geraakt aan winnen en de smaak van succes, dan is het niet fijn als je opeens van je voetstuk kukelt. Maar dat zorgt alleen maar voor extra motivatie om sterker terug te komen."

"Het is niet iets waar we controle over hebben. Als het chassis het probleem had gevormd, dan hadden we via nieuwe onderdelen kunnen proberen om het tij te keren. Ons lot ligt in handen van onze motorleverancier en onze expertise ligt op andere vlakken. Met motoren duurt het langer om iets te herstellen dan met het chassis."

Ik zeg het maar alvast: Red Bull pakt geen enkele titel meer totdat Audi het team nieuw leven inblaast met een eigen motor.
