Horner baalt van grid penalty voor motorwissel

De coureurs van Red Bull Racing stevenen af op onvermijdelijke straffen voor het gebruik van teveel motoren. Daniel Ricciardo is al toe aan zijn vierde krachtbron en bij Daniil Kvyat staat de teller op drie. Dat terwijl de limiet dit jaar ligt op vier motoren voor het hele seizoen.

Voor elke extra krachtbron geldt een grid penalty van tien plaatsen. Red Bull Racing zou gebaat zijn bij een verhoging van het aantal toegestane motoren. Daar wordt ook over gesproken, maar op meer dan één extra krachtbron hoeft de Oostenrijkse renstal niet te rekenen. En dat is niet genoeg.

Red Bull Racing-teambaas Christian Horner: "Het is frustrerend. Wij gaan op zeker over die limiet van vier heen. Gezien de hoeveelheid motoren die we nu al verbruikt hebben is de kans dat we onder die grens blijven gereduceerd tot nul procent. Helaas zijn dit de regels."

"Meer teams zullen daar last mee krijgen. In Maleisië is overeenstemming bereikt over een vijfde motor, maar voor ons moet dat aantal omhoog naar zeven, acht of misschien zelfs negen om geen straffen op te lopen. Hopelijk worden deze regels in de toekomst meer realistisch."

Zuinig met de banden,zuinig met de brandstof en zuinig met de motoren.
Je zou haast zeggen net als Zeeuws meisje:''Geen cent teveel hoor.'',maar dat gaat dan weer niet op.

      Wat is er zo idioot dan aan deze regels? Horner ook met deze uitspraak: "Hopelijk worden deze regels in de toekomst meer realistisch."

      Dat slaat toch nergens op? Vorig jaar met 5 motoren is zijn er richting het einde van het seizoen enkele straffen uitgedeeld omdat een paar coureurs een zesde motor nodig hadden.

      Dit jaar krijgen ze met de laatste wijziging wederom vijf motoren. Als de fabrikanten hun huiswerk goed hebben gedaan moeten ze toch de betrouwbaarheid van de motor wel hebben kunnen verbeteren in de winter waardoor de coureurs die vorig jaar een zesde motor nodig hadden dit jaar wel binnen de limiet blijven?

      De regels zijn prima, het is Renault die een wanprestatie heeft geleverd in de winter. Van relatief betrouwbaar maar iets te traag naar lachwekkend onbetrouwbaar en nog steeds te traag...

    Dus RedBull komt eerder in de problemen met deze regeling dan McLaren? Hebben ze bij Honda hun huiswerk beter gedaan dan bij Renault.. Is er trouwens al weer een up-to-date lijst met wie wat verbruikt heeft qua motorelementen?

      Honda is ook heel wat behoudender, ze hebben expres met minder vermogen gereden om meer data te verzamelen en aan de andere kant heeft Renault met twee teams(vorig jaar drie) genoeg data om de motor op de limiet te rijden.

    Stel, de regels zijn 5 motor maximaal, en je zet die 6e motor in voor de races in bijv. Spa, Monza en Singapore. Dan heb je toch alleen voor Spa een penalty ?

    In dat geval vind ik de straf nog wel meevallen. Ik weet nog dat Max vorig jaar in die 3 races 10 plekken gridpenalty kreeg voor een motor wissel. Daar waren dan ook 3 races per weekend wat relatief gezien hetzelfde is als hier, maar toch :P

      Ik dacht dat Max dit jaar de jongste coureur in de F1 was.
      Als hij vorig jaar in de F1 had gereden, was hij vorig jaar toch de jongste F1 coureur ooit?

      @NBTT: appels en peren!
      F3 heeft andere regels dan F1. Dat is hetzelfde als een vergelijk maken met DTM en superbikes. Tang en varken, zeg maar.

      @Warlord: heeft niets met trollen te maken.
      Maar met alle maxfanboys. 1 licht kritiekpunt en je krijgt me toch een zooi minnetjes aan je broek geplakt, wil je niet weten.
      En sowieso lijken al mijn tegeltjes minlovers aan te trekken.
      Dus mag ik bij voorbaat om een minnetje vragen?

      Last van je lange termijn geheugen?
      4 jaar lang hebben ze de goede motor geleverd aan RB, zo goed dat ze zelfs 4 races voor het einde al kampioen konden worden.
      En Williams heeft ook mede dankzij de Renault motor WK kunnen schrijven, net als Fernando zijn 2 WK's.
      Maar zo leuk om met je dikke buik achter een laptop te blaten.
