Hülkenberg opgewonden over eerste WEC-race

Voor Nico Hülkenberg start komend weekend een nieuw avontuur. De Force India-coureur maakt dan zijn debuut in het World Endurance Championship. In de 6 uur van Spa-Francorchamps zal hij namens Porsche waardevolle ervaring opdoen met het oog op de 24 uur van Le Mans.

Hülkenberg heeft er zin in. "Ik ben opgewonden over wat de komende weken en het weekend in Spa me gaan brengen. Natuurlijk ken ik het circuit goed, ik heb hier al vaak geracet, maar endurance racing is toch nieuw voor me. Ik ben benieuwd hoe het met zal vergaan."

"Ik benader deze uitdaging zonder vooroordelen, ik ga er blanco in. Ik wil ervaring opdoen en goed werk leveren voor Porsche. Spa is een snel circuit met lange rechte stukken, dat zou de 919 Hybrid moeten liggen. Het zou fijn zijn als het droog blijft, maar in de Ardennen weet je dat maar nooit."

Gaaf dat hij dit gaat doen en ik ga het zeker volgen van het weekend. Dit zouden meer coureurs moeten doen.
