Glock: "De Formule 1-races zijn behoorlijk saai"

Oud Formule 1-coureur Timo Glock vermaakt zich zelden tot nooit meer met een race uit de koningsklasse van de autosport. De Duitser, die voor Toyota en Marussia in de Formule 1 racete, is tegenwoordig in de DTM actief. Daarin is volgens hem meer spektakel te vinden.

Glock vertelde aan Bild: "De DTM verspreidt een positieve boodschap en houdt de kosten laag voor de teams. In de Formule 1 daarentegen hebben de renstallen met het meeste geld de macht, de rest moet maar zien hoe ze zich redden."

"Bovendien zijn de races in de Formule 1 tegenwoordig behoorlijk saai, dat is bij ons in de DTM wel anders. Met uitzondering van Sebastian Vettel is niemand in staat om de zilveren pijlen vooraan bij te houden", refereerde hij aan het team van Mercedes.

Wat veel trieste reacties hier. Glock wordt waarschijnlijk gewoon om een mening gevraagd, dus die geeft hij en vervolgens wordt het hier geplaatst.

Verder kun je Glock ook saai vinden, maar wat heeft dat hiermee te maken? Beetje kansloos.

    Als er iemand saai is is het Timo Glock wel.
    Ook in jou tijd waren de races wel eens saai hoor Timo.

      Timo ging destijds wel meer dan 10 seconden per ronde sneller. Oftewel hij zou 3 rondes voor Lewis zijn geëindigd in de "ongenaakbare" Mercedes. Hij heeft gewoon gelijk het ziet er gewoon langzaam uit nu, auto's die op de rails liggen en het woord nerveus niet kennen.

      De F1 heeft niet voor niets grote plannen om de boel flink te veranderen. Ze hebben spannende races ingeleverd om Mercedes binnen te halen die enkel interesse heeft in een goede marketing voor hun veelal ook kleine turbo motoren die in de straat auto's liggen.

      Niet om met de vinger te wijzen naar Mercedes mij maakt het niet uit wie het zo wou of wilt het gaat erom dat de sport die ik zo graag volg een andere waarde heeft nu dan dat het altijd was en hoort te zijn. En de fans pikken het toch niet zoals nu gaat dus is verandering aanstaande.

    Meneer is zelf verre van goed genoeg voor de Formule 1 en tja, dan krijg je dit soort jaloerse reacties. Heb toch leuke races gezien. Laatste race spannend vooraan en leuk om te kijken. Max in China een echte attractie. Vermaak me prima!

    Dtm is anders ook veel en veel saaier geworden met de jaren. Tijd als dit komt nooit meer: https://wwwPUNTyoutubePUNTcom/watch?v=Gw-AxiVqihM

    Enige wat daar nu bij in de buurt komt is het Brits toerwagen racen. Drie races in een weekend, veel standaard onderdelen, balance of performance die iedereen evenveel kans als handicaps geeft en zelfs standaardmotoren, zodat een armlastig team alleen de auto hoeft te bouwen maar de motor van de plank kan kopen.

    Op de 1e race na heb ik mij dit jaar best wel vermaakt anders.

    En voor dit seizoen was ik bijzonder kritisch, omdat vorig voor mij het saaiste jaar was van het afgelopen decennium.

    De aantrekkelijkheid zit 'm voor een deel in het meedoen van Max, maar ook buiten hem om gebeurt er genoeg en ik verwacht zelfs dat in de loop van het seizoen de verschillende topteams nog dichter op elkaar komen te zitten.

    RB zie ik nog wel aansluiten bij Mercedes/Ferrari en ook McLaren zal steeds dichterbij gaan komen naar mate het seizoen langer duurt.

    Ik heb vanaf 2002 tot en met 2004 geen F1 gekeken omdat (dankzij het bijtanken) de race's sprintrace's werden van 30 min per keer. Er werd nooit ingehaald en die keren dat het gebeurde was dat daardoor meteen memorabel. Ik snap niet dat iedereen zo loop te zeiken over de f1 op dit moment. 2014 was een fantastisch jaar qua spektakel, en daarbij draagt de huidige format meer bij, dan meetbaar is. Uiteindelijk was ook de formule 1 ten tijde van Glock een spel van geld, politiek en regulering. Ook grappig 'In de Formule 1 daarentegen hebben de renstallen met het meeste geld de macht, de rest moet maar zien hoe ze zich redden." Ik herrinner mij dat Toyota een budget had dat niet veel onderdeed voor dat van Ferrari of McLaren, en toch kon dat team zich niet redden, dus is een beetje dubbel. Beter ga je niet de sport lopen afkraken die jouw carriere heeft gemaakt en denk je in oplossingen ipv het overduidelijke aan te wijzen en zo weer eens van Glock te horen.

      Glock doet gewoon een Alguersuari'tje (Algenslager en Bounty; moet nog steeds lachen om die geniale bijnamen!).

      Ik ben het met je eens, ik heb vorig jaar mooie gevechten gezien ook al ging het bijna nooit om de overwinning en vond het een geslaagd seizoen. Wel vind ik de banden tot nu toe iets te hard. Er zijn meer gevechten wanneer de banden niet zo lang meegaan (2011/begin 2012/begin 2013).
      Grootste minpunt aan het spelletje tegenwoordig vind ik de overvloed aan uitloopstroken.

      Volledig mee eens. Minder uitloopstroken zou iig de mensen straffen die teveel risico nemen. Ook de banden zijn nogal een euvel omdat het beter zou zijn dat ze maximaal voor 15 ronden kunnen gaan, en dan langzaam slecht worden tot nutteloos (ronde 20).

      Ik heb er goede hoop in dat de F1 een kant opgaat die spectaculairder is dan de huidige formule. Breder spoor, grotere banden, meer PK, meer benzine, meer toeren en meer herrie, en Ecclestone vertrekt.

    De Formule 1 een negatieve mening geven is hier voor een aantal "vloeken in de kerk", maar Glock heeft gelijk, Hamilton wordt kampioen en Mercedes wint het constructeurskampioenschap. 4 races geweest en nog 15 te gaan.

    Durf ik ff een gok te wagen...
