Aero-afdeling Red Bull geeft het goede voorbeeld

Het team van Red Bull Racing moet ophouden met klagen over de tekortkomingen van de aandrijflijn en proberen om dat op andere manieren te compenseren, bijvoorbeeld aerodynamisch. Die boodschap is afkomstig van Dan Fallows, hoofd aerodynamica bij de Oostenrijkse renstal.

Iedereen weet ondertussen wel waar we het meeste laten liggen, maar eigenlijk is het irrelevant waarom we op achterstand staan.

Begint Fallows.

Wij zijn als aerodynamica-afdeling bij machte om er iets aan te doen. De Formule 1 bevat namelijk genoeg aspecten waarmee je het verschil kunt maken.

Je hebt de coureurs, de aandrijflijn, de aerodynamica, het bandenverbruik en ga zo maar door. We wisten bij de start van het seizoen wat onze zwakke plek was en dat dient als basis voor het werk dat wij als afdeling moeten verrichten. We hebben het eerder gedaan, we hebben er de middelen voor en we kunnen het weer doen.
