Haas niet als B-team van Ferrari door het leven

Haas F1 Team werkt nauw samen met Ferrari op weg naar het debuutjaar 2016, maar dat betekent niet dat de Amerikaanse renstal naar de pijpen van de Scuderia danst. Technisch directeur Gunther Steiner betoogt op Motorsport-Total.com:

Ik begrijp de term B-team niet goed, maar wij gaan niet als B-team voor Ferrari fungeren.

Hij vervolgt:

We praten niet met Ferrari over de invulling van de stoeltjes. Wij zijn niet van plan om als B-team van Ferrari door het leven te gaan en alleen maar te doen wat zij ons opdragen. Onze auto zal ook niet een geel gespoten Ferrari worden. Onze bolide zal gelijkenissen vertonen met die van Ferrari, maar er ook anders uitzien.

We nemen de aandrijflijn, plus energie hergebruikende systemen, en de brandstoftank van Ferrari over. Dat is volkomen legaal. Veel meer is niet toegestaan. Misschien dat we nog dezelfde ophanging kunnen gebruiken, dan zou het geheel veel beter functioneren. Maar verder zal onze auto er anders uit zien. Wij worden geen B-team.

Ze ontwerpen gewoon een eigen Chassis dus het team is gewoon een losstaand team, wat ook het beste is voor de Formule 1. Onder de huid zijn er een aantal dingen hetzelfde maarja. Kijk naar teams die met mercedes motoren tijden.....we gaan Force India of Lotus toch ook niet als Mercedes B team bes... [Lees verder]
