Luca Filippi in verband gebracht met stoeltje bij Sauber

Luca Filippi staat op de nominatie om dit jaar in te stappen bij het team van Sauber, zo meldt Auto Hebdo. De Italiaan zou Pedro de la Rosa af kunnen lossen bij de Zwitserse renstal. Eerder werd Pastor Maldonado al genoemd als vervanger van De la Rosa.

Teambaas Peter Sauber uitte zijn teleurstelling over de aanpassing van De la Rosa, die na drie jaar afwezigheid dit jaar weer racet, en sindsdien is de Spanjaard onderwerp van geruchten. Filippi kwam de afgelopen jaren vooral uit in de GP2 en de 24-jarige coureur testte in het verleden voor Minardi, Honda en Super Aguri. Over instappen bij Sauber zegt hij nu: Het zou een droom die uitkomt zijn, maar ik concentreer me momenteel liever op de nieuwe Auto GP.
