Plan voor vijfde motor voor rijders van de baan

De coureurs krijgen toch niet de beschikking over een extra aandrijflijn om het hele seizoen mee te voltooien. De limiet ligt momenteel op vier motoren waar de coureurs het hele jaar mee moeten doen. Er leek echter een aanpassing in de maak om een vijfde exemplaar ongestraft toe te staan.

De Strategy Group was het eerder dit seizoen eens over een verhoging van het maximum naar vijf. Daar is nu opeens geen sprake meer van. Motorsport.com stelt dat er onenigheid is ontstaan over het discussiepunt of de extra motor alleen op vrijdagen bij Grands Prix inzetbaar moet zijn.

De vijfde motor is nu van de baan, legt Mercedes-teampresident Niki Lauda aan persbureau APA uit. "Er komt geen extra krachtbron beschikbaar voor de rijders. Je kan niet zomaar de reglementen aanpassen gedurende een seizoen."

      Dat lijkt de laatste jaren inderdaad geen probleem te zijn geweest maar nu ineens welk.
      Dat Mercedes dit roept snap ik wel, zij hebben geen problemen ;-)

    Voor Max maakt het toch weinig verschil, zelfs met 10 motoren zou Renault het nog weten te verprutsen.

    Hoe jammer het voor met name Renault en Honda ook is, lijkt me dit wel terecht. Regels zijn regels en dan had men maar beter hun huiswerk moeten doen.

    Een extra vrijdagmotor zou opzich voor zowel het publiek als de teams wel een toegevoegde waarde kunnen zien. Meer rondjes/kilometers is meer spektakel voor het publiek en meer data voor de teams.

    Ik ben erg benieuwd hoeveel motoren/onderdelen met name Renault en Honda dit jaar nodig gaan zijn.

    Heel deze formule1 sinds verleden jaar heeft nog weinig te bieden aan de fans. Ze moeten spaarzaam zijn met hun motor, de banden, brandstof e.d. Luca di Montezemolo had gelijk, het zijn geen piloten meer maar niet meer of minder dan Taxichauffeurs
    Kijk naar video beelden van de jaren 90, daar zul je zien hoe hard het ging met de ganse boel en er waren geen 70 knopjes op het stuur wat het nu meer maakt dat we een PS4 besturen dan een F1 wagen

      Ik snap je verhaal maar je doet nu alsof het besturen van een F1 wagen wel heel makkelijk is. Kon je nog wel eens tegenvallen. Al klopt het natuurlijk dat het extreme van jaren geleden eraf is. De motoren worden qua power wel onderschat, zet deze motoren in een ouder chassis en mensen zullen versteld staan. Extra pk's voglend jaar en het toerental omhoog zou de F1 wel ten goede komen natuurlijk. Meer geluid is naar mijn inziens ook een garantie voor een betere ticketverkoop.

    vraag me af of het Mercedes is die niet hebben ingestemd? Als dat zo is zijn ze zeker bang dat Ferrari haar geupdate PU eerder inzet

    Die ene motor extra maakt voor de teams met problemen toch niet uit dus kunnen ze het idd net zo goed niet doen. Kost een hoop extra en brengt niets.

    F1 is de laatste jaren steeds Oninteressanter geworden, te veel regels, te veel beperkingen, steeds moeilijker live te zien, heeft als Sport voor mij inmiddels afgedaan om er voor thuis te blijven of s'nachts voor op te staan. Hulde voor Eikelstoon en de zijne.
