Crowdfunding-project voor film over Fittipaldi

De makers van de Formule 1-documentaire '1: Life on the Limit' hebben een nieuw idee voor een film waarin oud-coureur Emerson Fittipaldi centraal staat. De tweevoudig wereldkampioen bleek zo'n interessante verteller voor de eerdere documentaire dat hij nu zelf het onderwerp is.

De film krijgt de titel 'The name is Fittipaldi'. De makers hebben bij Kickstarter een crowdfunding-project opgezet voor de financiering van de film. Producent Michael Shevloff: "We hebben de volledige toestemming en medewerking van Emerson Fittipaldi."

"Het wordt een heel andere film dan '1'. Het wordt een intiem portret waarbij we in het hoofd van een kampioen kruipen. De film vertelt het verhaal van Emersons twee titels, drie vrouwen en zijn negen levens. Het onderzoek en schrijven is reeds gestart, we willen in de zomer beginnen met draaien."
