Gasly door het dolle heen na Formule 1-debuut

Pierre Gasly testte gisteren voor het eerst met een Formule 1-wagen. De jonge Fransman legde namens Scuderia Toro Rosso maar liefst 131 ronden af op het circuit van Barcelona. Na afloop kon hij amper onder woorden brengen hoe bijzonder hij deze ervaring vond.

Gasly: "De eerste keer dat je met een Formule 1-auto de baan op mag is voor elke coureur zeer speciaal. Ik heb hier als klein jongetje van gedroomd. In het begin wilde ik het zoveel mogelijk in me opnemen en dat is volgens mij ook wel aardig gelukt."

"Ik heb 131 ronden gereden, dat is heel veel ervaring. Dat is waardevol voor me en ik heb genoten van het rijden met een Formule 1-bolide. Het verschil met de GP2 is niet heel groot, maar alles voelt net iets beter. Het was geweldig, buitengewoon."

"Vooral de G-krachten die vrijkomen bij het remmen liggen hoger dan ik gewend was. Maar wat me nog het meest verbaasde was de stuurbekrachtiging. Het voelt veel lekkerder om voor een bocht in te sturen. Het was een fenomenaal gevoel."

je zou je bijna gaan afvragen waarom er nog coureurs zijn die willen doorstromen van de gp2 naar de f1 ?
Blijf lekker gp2 coureur, veel goedkoper en het is bijna f1 ;-)

    Het is buitengewoon belachelijk dat coureurs allemaal zeggen dat het verschil tussen GP2 en F1 niet groot is.. Is er nou niemand binnen de FIA die ziet dat het roer om moet? Als ze zo doorgaan is de publieke belangstelling dermate afgenomen dat er helemaal geen sponsoren meer zijn die hier geld in willen stoppen en zal de F1 een stille dood sterven.

    Als de F1 wil overleven wordt het tijd dat er eens naar de fans wordt geluisterd.

      Blijf lekker gp2 coureur, veel goedkoper en het is bijna f1 ;-)

    Hij zal vast niet voor zijn verdriet in de GP2 zitten.
    Als de GP2 al helemaal geweldig is dan is ietsje beter dan dat, tja nog geweldiger.

    Manor zou zich met hun quali tijden in Barcelona respectievelijk op de 22e en 26e positie van de GP2 startgrid bevinden. Zegt wel genoeg zeker...
    Ok het is Manor, het kneusje van de F1, maar zelfs dan zou er nog een groot verschil moeten zijn met eender welke opstapklasse.

    Ik kijk tegenwoordig meer uit naar de GP2 races dan de F1. Daar valt tenminste nog iets te beleven. Triest.
