Ferrari tracht 'nachtmerrie' in Canada te vermijden

Het team van Ferrari moet alle zeilen bijzetten om in de zevende Grand Prix van dit seizoen sterk voor de dag te komen. Komend weekend staat eerst Monaco op het programma, maar de Scuderia kijkt al met angst en beven uit naar de race in Canada. Op het circuit van Montreal is tractie van doorslaggevend belang en juist dat facet was in Spanje de zwakke plek van Ferrari.

Teambaas Maurizio Arrivabene: "Als je naar de derde sector in Barcelona kijkt, daar draait het volledig om tractie. Slagen we er niet in om dat probleem op te lossen, dan is dat niet zozeer een slechte zaak voor Monaco omdat we daar met speciale afstellingen rijden. Maar ik wil niet met deze problematische tractie naar Canada, want dat wordt dan een nachtmerrie."

De updates waar Sebastian Vettel mee reed werkten nog niet optimaal. "Vergeleken met de auto van Kimi Raikkonen was het wel beter, maar niet genoeg om het gat naar Mercedes te dichten. Ik ben niet blind, ik zag ook wel dat we in de laatste sector een halve seconde per ronde verloren. Dan kunnen de cijfers intern nog zo positief zijn, de realiteit was anders", aldus Arrivabene.
