India niet op korte termijn terug op F1-kalender

De kans dat India in de nabije toekomst weer een Grand Prix organiseert is nihil. Buddh International Circuit nabij Delhi was drie keer gastheer voor een Formule 1-race, maar na 2013 verdween de Indiase Grand Prix vanwege financiële en bureaucratische redenen van het schema.

Promotor Jaypee Sports liet in een eerder stadium weten dat ze het evenement voor 2016 of uiterlijk 2017 weer terug op de Formule 1-kalender willen hebben. Op de uitgelekte voorlopige versie van het rooster voor volgend seizoen ontbrak India echter.

Een anonieme bron zegt nu in de New Indian Express: "Tenzij de overheid erin stapt, is de terugkeer van de Indiase Grand Prix hoe dan ook onhaalbaar, laat staan in 2016. De officiële lezing is dat onderhandelingen gaande zijn, maar niemand verwacht dat de race op korte termijn weer plaats vindt."

    Weet iemand of er andere activiteiten plaatsvinden op het circuit nu ? Of hebben we over 5 à 10 jaar vergelijkbare foto's in de krant en op de internets die we recent ook hebben gezien van de Olympische accomodaties in Athene ? Zo lang die deelstaat F1 als entertainment ziet en niet als sport en zodoende belasting wil heffen op de inkomsten en winsten van de individuele teams komen we hier nooit meer terug.

      Ik denk niet dat er ook maar één serieuze race-fan is die er op zit te wachten om terug te keren naar dit circuit.

    fijn dat hij niet terugkomt
    er moet echt wat veranderd worden aan de hedendaagse manier van hoe de formule 1 geregeld wordt.

    ze gaan al in de goede richting met het feit dat tanken weer wordt toegestaan en eigen banden keuze(zie liever dat Pirelli of nieuwe banden maakt die lang meegaan of een andere bandenfabrikant) zodat ze weer echt kunnen racen. fuel flow eraf halen.
    de auto's moeten ook weer sneller worden dan voorheen, meer toeren voor het geluid(wordt al aan gewerkt). Daarnaast een nieuwe verdeling van het prijzengeld. daarnaast moet er voor de fans de prijzen voor kaartjes omlaag. zie zelf het liefste dat er meer racelocaties op de kalender komen dan nu.(zou mogelijk worden als ze van race naar race zouden gaan die het dichtste bij ligt).
