Artsen voorzien volledig herstel voor Hinchcliffe

James Hinchcliffe ligt niet langer op de intensive care. De Canadees die maandag zwaar gewond raakte na een crash in een training voor de Indy 500 is verplaatst naar een normale afdeling in het ziekenhuis. Hij heeft geen verdere operaties nodig.

Dokter Timothy Pohlman, chirurg bij het IU Health Methodist Hospital, over de toestand van Hinchcliffe: "We zijn zeer tevreden over zijn progressie en zijn gezondheid blijft zich verbeteren. Onze verwachting, in samenspraak met de medische staf van de IndyCar, is dat hij volledig zal herstellen."

Het is eerder een wonder dat hij nog leeft. Bovenop wat JV zegt was de grootste zorg het bloeden van een hoofdader in z'n dijbeen. Bij zoiets kan je doodbloeden binnen enkele minuten. Daarbovenop was de impact 125 G's. Hij zal volledig herstellen om in de toekomst nog te racen, maar voor de Indy ... [Lees verder]
