Toekomst Grand Prix in Valencia staat niet ter discussie

Promotor Valmor Sports twijfelt niet of het door moet gaan met de Grand Prix van Europa op het stratencircuit van Valencia. Dat meldt Carlos Gracia, voorzitter van de Spaanse autosportbond, in de krant AS. Valencia was de afgelopen twee jaar gastheer van een race.

Tot veel enthousiasme leidde dat niet. Het Circuito Urbano de Valencia ademt weinig sfeer uit en de races boden tot nu toe weinig spektakel. Voor Valmor zou dat aanleiding zijn om de toekomst van het evenement te heroverwegen, maar Gracia sprak met de promotor en hoorde een ander verhaal. Vorig jaar waren ze niet zo positief, maar nu hebben ze aangegeven alle resterende jaren van het contract vol te willen maken. De verbintenis met Valencia loopt nog tot en met 2014.
