Nieuwe richtlijnen voor updates voor motoren

De internationale autosportbond FIA heeft nieuwe richtlijnen uitgevaardigd voor het verbeteren van de betrouwbaarheid van de motoren. Ferrari, Mercedes, Renault en Honda hoeven voor updates voor hun aandrijflijnen geen tokens in te zetten wanneer deze vernieuwingen ten behoeve van de veiligheid, de kosten of de betrouwbaarheid zijn.

De FIA verlangt voortaan echter een uitgebreidere uitleg over updates voor de betrouwbaarheid, ontdekte Autosport. De federatie heeft dat in een brief kenbaar gemaakt aan de motorleveranciers en de teams. "Alle verzoeken om de betrouwbaarheid van de gehomologeerde aandrijflijn te verbeteren moeten schriftelijk ingediend worden bij de FIA, met kopieën voor de FIA F1 Engine Distribution Group."

"Al die verzoeken dienen minstens acht dagen voor de geplande inzet van de aangepaste aandrijflijn ingediend te worden, inclusief ondersteunende data. Daarbij verlangen we een complete uitleg van het probleem, genummerde onderdelen ter referentie, uitgebreide tekeningen van gemodificeerde onderdelen, testresultaten waaruit blijkt dat de betrouwbaarheid erop vooruit gaat en alle relevante informatie van leveranciers."

    Wat een bureaucratie is het ondertussen toch geworden. Daar wordt niemand blij van volgens mij. Zal wel niet anders meer kunnen denk ik. Wel gunstig voor de teams met een onbetrouwbare PU.

      Bureaucratie ten top inderdaad, maar ik denk wel dat het nodig is.
      De F1 teams zijn zo gehaaid dat ze elke maas in de regels zullen weten te vinden en daar gebruik/misbruik van zullen maken
