FIA stelt geen verbod op alcoholreclame in F1 in

De internationale autosportbond FIA ziet zich niet genoodzaakt om alcoholreclame uit de Formule 1 te verbannen. Daartoe deed de European Alcohol Policy Alliance (Eurocare) vorige week een oproep. Onderzoek van Eurocare wees uit dat tijdens de Grand Prix van Monaco van vorig seizoen elke vijf seconden een alcoholmerk in beeld was gekomen.

Mariann Skar, secretaris-generaal bij Eurocare, stelt in een verklaring: "De mate van aan alcohol gerelateerde exposure is in de Formule 1 extreem naar alle maatstaven. Binnen de Formule 1-gemeenschap lijkt men weg te lopen voor hun verantwoordelijkheid met elke vijf seconden een alcoholmerk in beeld voor een globaal publiek van 500 miljoen kijkers. We dringen bij de Formule 1-autoriteiten aan om afstand te nemen van alcoholreclame."

De FIA voelt zich niet geroepen om in te grijpen. Voorzitter Jean Todt vertelde aan ABC: "De advertenties voor alcoholische merken zijn niet gerelateerd aan de FIA, ze zijn gelinkt aan elk individueel land. Ik ben er volledig op tegen om reclame te maken om met een slok op achter het stuur te kruipen, maar elk land bepaalt zelf het beleid op dit punt."

"Je kan alcohol niet uitbannen, dat is onmogelijk. Je kan wel mensen wijzen op de gevaren van in beschonken toestand rijden. Ik dring er dan ook bij alcoholproducenten op aan dat ze de educatie van consumenten financieren en ontmoedigen dat men na een drankje nog de weg op gaat. Daar werken we aan omdat het een belangrijk onderwerp is."

  Dat komt door al de Arabische GP's die er zijn bijgekomen, daardoor zijn ook de sexy geklede dames met de Naam/Nr. borden van de startgrid verdwenen en spuiten ze met rozenwater ! ;-)

Is toch normaal dat het aan wetten gebonden is? Dat is/was ook zo met tabaksreclame. Tabaksreclame werd ook pas verboden toen landen het gingen verbieden. De teams doen niets verkeerd. Er is ook gewoon alcohol reclame op tv.
