Lowdon mist strategie en visie in Strategy Group

Het woordje 'Strategy' in de Strategy Group is misplaatst en misleidend, stelt Manor-directeur Graeme Lowdon. Het orgaan dat de koers voor de toekomst van de Formule 1 uitstippelt kan onmogelijk beticht worden van het ventileren van een strategie of een visie. De belangrijke onderwerpen raken elke vergadering weer ondergesneeuwd bij minder urgente kwesties.

Dat zegt Lowdon tegenover Autosport. "Van wat ik heb meegekregen is er nog nooit iets strategisch voortgekomen uit de Strategy Group. Onder strategie versta ik dat je eerst de situatie analyseert, vervolgens doelstellingen formuleert en aan de hand daarvan een plan opstelt om die doelen te verwezenlijken. Wat de Strategy Group doet is een beetje willekeurig ideeën eruit pikken. De ene keer is het bijtanken, de andere keer zijn het klantenauto's of wat dan ook."

"Dat is geen strategie, dat getuigt niet echt van visie. Een strategie is een routebeschrijving voor waar je naartoe wil. Ze negeren de fundamentele vragen voor deze sport. Wat is de strategie voor de Formule 1, welke kant willen we op, waar staan we voor? Ik hoopte dat de Formule 1 een groeistrategie zou verzinnen zodat iedereen weet wat we aan het doen zijn. Zoiets is moeilijk omdat het tijd en energie vergt, maar alle grote internationale bedrijven zweren erbij."

Probleem is gewoon dat allerlei besluiten alleen kunnen worden goedgekeurd als iedereen ermee instemt.
Als je kijkt naar het totale plaatje hoe het gaat met alle besluiten zit daar het probleem ook denk ik.
Volgens mij hebben all teams 50% stemrecht en hebben FIA en Bernie de andere 50% van het stemrecht of heb ik het nu verkeerd.
Vindt het gewoon te zot voor worden dat iemand die alleen het commerciele gedeelte van de sport doet in alles kan meebeslissen.
