Bob Bell staat Manor bij als technisch adviseur

Het team van Manor heeft de technische staf versterkt met een aantal nieuwe aanwinsten. Gianluca Pisanello en Luca Furbatto beginnen vandaag hun werkzaamheden als respectievelijk hoofdengineer en hoofdontwerper. Verrassender is de derde naam waarmee de Britse renstal op de proppen kwam. Bob Bell, voormalig Renault en Mercedes, verbond zich voor de rest van dit seizoen als adviseur aan Manor.

Teambaas John Booth: "Het doet ons deugd om Bob, Luca en Gianluca bij het team te verwelkomen. De start van het seizoen 2015 is voor ons dramatisch, maar ook veelbelovend verlopen en we komen eigenlijk nu pas in ons ritme. Dat stelt ons in staat om naar de toekomst te kijken. Het doel voor de rest van dit jaar is een solide fundering leggen en onze interne capaciteiten ontwikkelen."

"Zoals gebruikelijk in de Formule 1 vertrouwen we daarbij op ervaring, taaiheid en gedrevenheid bij onze collega's. Daarom zijn we ook blij met deze versterkingen. Elk van hen beschikt over een schat aan ervaring en voegt zo een extra dimensie aan de bestaande structuur toe. Hoewel we proberen onze prestaties in 2015 te maximaliseren, kunnen we ook al voorzichtig onze aandacht richten op het volgende hoofdstuk in ons verhaal; 2016 en daarna."

  Zou helemaal niet zo'n gek idee zijn. Waarschijnlijk ondanks alles goedkoper dan een team van de grond af aan opbouwen.
