Paul Walsh geruisloos van F1-toneel verdwenen

Paul Walsh, de voormalig topman bij Diageo, vormt niet langer een bedreiging voor de positie van Bernie Ecclestone. Walsh stevende af op een toekomst als voorzitter van de Formule 1 en hij had de intentie om de rol van Ecclestone te marginaliseren of in elk geval de teugels strakker te trekken.

In de dagen voor Kerst vaardigde CVC Capital een persbericht uit waarin Walsh werd benoemd tot niet-uitvoerend directeur. Hij kreeg een plekje in het bestuur. Sky-verslaggever Mark Kleinman bericht nu dat Walsh die positie nooit heeft bekleed.

CVC heeft het betreffende bericht inmiddels ook van de site gehaald. Walsh is geruisloos van het Formule 1-toneel verdwenen. De eigenaar van de commerciële rechten voor de Formule 1 was niet bereikbaar voor commentaar.
