Renault evalueert concepten voor meer kracht

Renault heeft de betrouwbaarheid met dank aan een nieuw ontwerp voor de zuigers onder controle en verschuift de aandacht nu naar de performance. Wat dat betreft staan de komende weken enkele belangrijke tests met prototypes op de testbank op het programma.

Motorsport.com bericht dat Renault deze periode benut om concepten waarmee ze het vermogen kunnen vergroten te evalueren. De Franse autofabrikant heeft nog 12 tokens om de performance te verbeteren en de Belgische Grand Prix is waarschijnlijk het moment om een upgrade te introduceren.

Red Bull Racing-teambaas Christian Horner: "Het frustrerende met de aandrijflijn is dat er veel tijd overheen gaat om iets te verbeteren. De komende twee weken vinden proeven op de testbank in Viry plaats en die zullen een grote impact op volgend seizoen hebben, of in elk geval de richting voor volgend jaar aangeven. Achter de schermen zijn het belangrijke weken in Viry-Chatillon."

Vind dit vrij laat, dat had vorige winter al moeten gebeuren. Seizoen 2015 is naar de knoppen dat is wel duidelijk.
