Marchionne verwacht begripvolle houding Mercedes

Sergio Marchionne verwacht dat Mercedes voor de sport zal kiezen - en niet voor zichzelf - nu er gekeken wordt de reglementen rondom de motoren in de Formule 1 uit de ijskast te halen. Christian Horner vertelde afgelopen week dat Renault uit de sport kan stappen wanneer dit niet gebeurt, iets wat vooralsnog in de handen van Mercedes lijkt te liggen. De vier motorfabrikanten moeten het namelijk unaniem met elkaar eens zijn om de regels te veranderen.

En hoewel Horner denkt dat Mercedes niet wil veranderen, denkt Sergio Marchionne van Ferrari daar heel anders over: "Ik denk dat Mercedes begrijpt dat de regels behouden uit eigen profijt niet goed is. Mensen die denken dat je altijd de beste kunt zijn, moeten kijken naar wat met ons gebeurde bij Ferrari. We hebben een paar vreselijke jaren gekend waar wij nu uitkomen. Niets is permanent. Ferrari was toentertijd net zo schuldig als Mercedes nu is. We moeten dus rationeel naar dit probleem kijken, en er alles aan doen om de sport niet te verliezen."

    Mooi dat hij ook de Ferrari dominantie aanhaalt en niet schroomt hun eigen aandeel daarin te benoemen! Krijg toch steeds warmere gevoelens bij de man :)

      Hoezo? Is makkelijk lullen door de hand in eigen boezem te steken nu de trofeeën in Maranello staan. Of geeft ie die nu terug?
      Als Ferrari in de positie had gezeten waarin Mercedes nu zit had ie dit niet gezegd hoor. In een keiharde wereld waarin het alleen maar gaat om geld aan je tegenstanders vragen of ze je een beetje willen helpen ze te verslaan vind ik meer dan hypocriet, het is super schijnheilig.

      Die dominantie is toch altijd een onderdeel geweest van F1? Ik snap niet goed waarom ze hier zo moeilijk over doen. In een paar jaar staat er weer een ander team op. Ik heb trouwens een sterk vermoeden dat Ferrari al heel dicht bij Mercedes in de buurt komt en op sommige circuits er al voorbij zit.

    Ach zolang niets wordt gedaan aan de scheve verdeling van de tv-gelden en Ferrari zich daar bovenop ieder jaar tientallen miljoenen extra laat betalen als een soort startgeld, is het hypocrisie ten top.

      Makkelijk gezegd, Formule 1 en al helemaal in deze staat kan helemaal niet zonder Ferrari. Zie die extra miljoenen als beloning voor het langst trouw te zijn aan de Formule 1 en zie het als een beloning voor de prestige die het merk mee brengt.

      Het verschil tussen de autofabrikanten en de privateers blijft altijd wel bestaan al krijgen ze paar miljoen extra uit de televisierechten dan kunnen ze bij lange na niet tippen aan de top teams dus erg naïef om te denken dat dit maar iets veranderd.

      Beter zou zijn als de motor fabrikanten een eigen klasse beginnen, dan kan de F1 verder met strenge budgetlimieten en een totaal gelijk speelveld, materiaal en bovenal zo groen dat de tribunes vol zitten met natuurbeschermers dan is het opgelost.

      De topteams moeten niet worden opgezadeld met deze last. Wat Lauda zegt ze zijn niet verantwoordelijk voor de amusement waarde, dat zijn de eigenaren van F1 die moeten ervoor zorgen voor verandering hierin als dat verstandig zou zijn. Maar ik denk dat er om hele goede redenen het zo verdeeld word.

      Zonder Ferrari is het over en sluiten voor de F1 . Ferrari levert zoveel op , dat je die miljoenen extra graag geeft.

      Ik kijk al meer dan 30 jaar en zou echt niet weten waarom we niet zonder Ferrari zouden kunnen. Lotus is toch ook gevallen en dat is misschien wel een van de grootste teams die ooit in F1 geweest zijn. Toen ik begon te kijken kwam Ferrari er totaal niet aan te pas. De enige momenten dat ze in beeld kwamen was als ze weer zo'n blunder maakten. Ik was fan van Schumacher maar Ferrari had ik niets mee. Ik vind ook dat Ferrari een opleving heeft gehad door Todt, Brawn en Schumacher. Toen die weg waren waren ze weer zoals ik ze altijd gekend heb.

      Tja , je kijkt alleen naar prestaties terwijl er ook andere factoren mee spelen. Je kan wel zeggen dat je 30jaar lang naar F1 kijkt maar dan heb je er weinig kaas van gegeten.
