Button ontvangt grote gridpenalty na volledige power unit wissel

Jenson Button wordt dit weekend vijfentwintig plekken teruggezet op de startgrid in Oostenrijk. McLaren heeft besloten de volledige power unit van de Brit te vervangen, met een enorme straf als gevolg.

Net als Max Verstappen in Canada zal Jenson Button in de race een stop-and-go penalty moeten incasseren. Het belooft dus een zwaar weekend te worden voor McLaren, aangezien Fernando Alonso twintig plekken wordt teruggezet op de grid. Hierdoor moet de Spanjaard ook een stop-and-go penalty ondergaan tijdens de race.

De McLaren-coureurs verkeren dit weekend overigens in goed gezelschap. Ook Daniel Ricciardo en Daniil Kvyat worden op de grid teruggezet.
