Pirelli testte nieuwe materiaal met oog op 2016

Bandenleverancier Pirelli benutte de testdagen op de Red Bull Ring om met prototype banden voor volgend seizoen data te vergaren. De test in Oostenrijk begon kleddernat op dinsdag, maar uiteindelijk kwam het met het weer nog goed. En dus kon Pirelli genoeg informatie verzamelen met het oog op 2016.

Motorsportbaas Paul Hembery legt uit: "Het begin van de test in Oostenrijk was frustrerend met al die regen, maar vanaf dinsdagmiddag hebben de teams solide werk kunnen verrichten. Op woensdag toonde de zon zich zelfs af en toe. We zijn Ferrari, Mercedes en Scuderia Toro Rosso dankbaar dat zij zich vrijwillig aangeboden hebben om ons te helpen bij het testen van nieuw materiaal voor 2016."

"Er zijn dit jaar geen testdagen gereserveerd voor specifieke bandentests, dus we waren volledig afhankelijk van de medewerking van de teams. We zijn blij dat Ferrari, Mercedes en Toro Rosso daar gehoor aan hebben gegeven. De resultaten van de test zullen nuttig zijn bij de ontwikkeling van onze volgende generatie banden."
