Moeizaam jaar McLaren dreunt allicht lang door

McLaren ondervindt mogelijk ook volgend seizoen nog hinder van het geploeter van dit jaar. De hereniging met Honda is nog geen doorslaand succes. De aandrijflijn is te zwak en vertoont tevens betrouwbaarheidsproblemen. Bovendien is het chassis van de MP4-30 niet geweldig. Daardoor scoorde McLaren pas vier punten en houdt het alleen het nietige Manor achter zich.

Racing director Eric Boullier: "Ik weet niet of dit seizoen ook volgend jaar nog door dreunt, maar spoedig komt het moment dat het zeker impact gaat hebben op 2016. We hebben veel tijd gemist, zowel in de wintertests als nu in de races. Alle ronden die wij niet rijden en de overige teams wel, daarmee creëren we onze eigen achterstand."

"Misschien is het verstandig om de focus voor de Grand Prix-weekenden te verschuiven, meer naar betrouwbaarheid dan performance. We proberen elke mogelijkheid te benutten. Ik heb de exacte cijfers niet, maar we liggen achter. Er zit veel meer in deze machine en dat zal de komende races hopelijk aan het oppervlak komen, maar we moeten onze tijd er voor nemen."

    Ach, chassis zeggen niet alles. Sauber had vorig jaar een heel slecht jaar, geen punten. Dit jaar een ander chassis en ineens wel punten.

    Grote verschil zit hem in de motoren natuurlijk kijkend naar RedBull en ToroRosso, de Renault teams dus.

    Als men slim is dan gaat men de laatste races gewoon uitgebreid testen met de 2016 specificaties...? Kan zoiets? Hebben ze ineens een voorsprong.

      Nee, ze hebben voor dit jaar voor de motor nog een beperkt aantal tokens....dus 2016spec kunnen ze einde dit seizoen niet toepassen...daar zijn de wintertesten voor...
      Ze kunnen wel upgrades uitvoeren, maar dat zal niet veel uitmaken...
      Pas over 2-4 races zal er een verschil te zien zijn met de huidige upgrades...

      De "doorbraak" van Sauber is een goede motor achterin icm slecht presterende Renaults en Honda's. Je ziet nu ook dat nu Renault de betrouwbaarheid enigzins onder controle heeft de Saubers geen enkel punt meer hebben gescoord. Dat vierkant ding wat door moet gaan voor een chassis wordt enkel en alleen vooruit gebrand door de Ferrari en ze mogen Maranello op hun blote knieen bedanken voor de punten die ze gehaald hebben. Dat er 2 van die druiloren achter het stuur zitten helpt ook niet. Nasr is nog redelijk, maar Ericsson is dramatisch.

    Ofwel, 2016 zal Honda niet hoger dan de middenmoot rijden....
    2017, maximaal (nee, gaat niet over Max) een podium...
    2018...who knows??? nieuwe regels....zit Alonso er dan nog??

    Arme Alonso!! Zoals de zaken er nu voorstaan, kan hij pas in 2017 een gooi naar de titel doen. Tegen die tijd zijn Ferrari en Mercedes misschien aan elkaar gewaagd, waardoor hij geen schijn van kans maakt. Immers zijn Lewis en Vettle belachelijk goed in het kwalificeren, terwijl Alonso daar juist geen ster in is.

      Ik verwacht de McLaren voor Alonso's pensioen (over een jaar of 4) niet bij de top komt.

    Ik hoop gewoon dat McLaren spoedig rondt her niveau van Williams zit, en soms zitten ze daar niet eens heel ver van af, dan heb ik het natuurlijk over de snelheid over 1 ronde.

    Dat bedoel ik dan natuurlijk wel relatief, ik heb namelijk het gevoel dat er heel veel in het vat zit voor die Honda motor. Mede dankzij een McLaren waar in principe echt niet zoveel mis mee is. En 2 top rijders. We zullen alleen moeten wachten op Honda haar updates tot heeell laat.

    Als Honda nl. Slim is dan gaan ze zo lang als mogelijk is door met het ontwikkelen van de plekken waar ze haar tokens mee gaan gebruiken. 2015 moeten ze echt 100% uit hun hoofd zetten, echt echt echt 100%. Niet 99,9%.. maar 100,0%. Deze strategie hoop ik eigenlijk ook dat Ferrari die hanteert, want natuurlijk is een overwinning erbij sit jaar leuk, en als je dat op eigen kracht kan doen door in Monza nog een update er tegenaan te gooien, heel leuk. Maar ik heb liever 2pk meer, die overwinning niet doordat die update pas in bijv. Brazilië word ingezet met het oog op 2016.
