Vandoorne kan weinig zeggen over F1-toekomst

Stoffel Vandoorne is de onbetwiste leider in de GP2 op dit moment en koerst in rap tempo af op de titel in de opstapklasse. Als hij het kampioenschap wint, dan verschaft de Belg zich uitstekende papieren voor een toekomst in de Formule 1. Maar zover vooruit denkt hij zelf nog niet.

Vandoorne deelde aan Sky Sports F1 mede: "Het doel is om dit jaar de GP2-titel te pakken en we zijn aardig op weg. Natuurlijk ben ik met mijn gedachten bij een toekomst in de Formule 1, dat is vrij normaal in deze fase, maar het is ook nog vroeg in het seizoen. Ik focus me voorlopig alleen op de GP2 en dan zien we vanzelf wel wat de toekomst brengt."

"Ik sta regelmatig in contact met het management van McLaren, met Ron Dennis en Eric Boullier. Dan bespreken we van alles, maar het is nog te vroeg om mijn toekomst vast te leggen en om me ergens aan te verbinden. Dat zal in een later stadium gebeuren."

    Eerst even dominant kampioen worden. Als hij blijft rijden zoals nu, is hij ruim voor het einde van het seizoen als kampioen en heeft hij alle tijd om te onderhandelen voor een F1 zitje voor volgend jaar. Kan misschien dit seizoen nog instappen in de Manor als McLaren-Honda een handje helpt. Merhi heeft toch geen budget en Stevens kan hij echt wel aan. Ricciardo is ook halverwege het jaar in de HRT gestapt en heeft em ook geen windeieren gelegd...

    Manor en Honda is nog helemaal geen zekerheid aangezien Honda zelf al heeft aangegeven nog niet klaar te zijn voor een 2e team. Het ligt er echt aan wat Button en Alonso gaan doen. Deze gasten hebben een doorlopend contract. Ik hoop van harte dat Stoffel 1 van de zitjes weet te bemachtigen.

    Ik moet nog zien of Alonso doorgaat na dit seizoen.

      Alonso opstappen...nee, in zijn laatste interview zag hij de toekomst helemaal zitten, die zit volgend jaar gewoon nog bij McLaren.

      Ik weet het niet hoor. Alonso is nu 33 en kan misschien (vergelijkend met een Schumacher) nog een jaar of 4 mee in de F1. Op die leeftijd wil je echt niet meer een team volledig opbouwen. Dat doe je op de leeftijd Vettel/Hamilton. Eens in de 30 en als topper wil je gewoon naar een team waar je goede kans hebt om voor de wereldtitel te vechten (ook al is dat natuurlijk nooit echt zeker).

      Alonso had het vorig jaar volledig gehad met Ferrari (en vice versa) maar de timing om van team te wisselen zat compleet verkeerd. En toen bleef McLaren als enige alternatief over, de wildcard Honda inbegrepen. En da's niet zo uitgedraaid zoals hij zou willen. Misschien dat ie nog enkele maanden afwacht en kijkt waar het met die motor en project voor volgend jaar naartoe gaat. Maar als dat ook al bij voorbaat verloren is, zie ik hem een Prost'je doen.

      Alonso en Button blijven 100%....A. hebben ze dat zelf al gezegd. B. Willen ze wraak voor dit seizoen. C. Waar moeten ze anders naartoe, ofwel voor Alonso is lotus/renault enige alternatief en die gaan voor Fransen..D. Alonso's droom is drie wereldtitels...en zijn favo auto is MP-4 mclaren Honda..., dus wereldkampioen in een Honda is zeen droom.....E. hij kan nog makkelijk 4 jaar mee in deze type F1 modellen...

    Stoffel Vandoorne verdient een plekje in de F1. Het zou heel erg zonde zijn als hij zijn kans niet krijgt zoals bijvoorbeeld ook Robin Frijns is overkomen. Een aantal oudgedienden zoals Massa, Button, Raikkonen en Alonso houden te krampachtig hun stoeltje vast terwijl hun vuurtje al aan het doven is...

      Alonso is nog lang niet uitgedoofd de 3 anderen voor een stuk wel maar goed zolang Stoffel geen big sponsor mee heeft zal het zeer moeilijk zijn als kleine Belg

      Alonso kan nog makkelijk jaren mee, Button heeft nog min een contract van 1 seizoen. Massa rijdt niet slecht dit jaar...en Frijns heeft het een beetje voor zichzelf verpest door Red Bull negatief te belichten voordat hij er ging testen...was niet slim. Vandoorne enige optie is Manor of hopen dat Force India hem een jaartje van Mclaren wil huren, indien Hulkenberg naar Williams/Ferrari gaat....

    Ik vind de poll wel een beetje grappig. Als Max klaar is voor de F1 (en dat is hij ook, dat toont hij) dan is Stoffel zeker klaar. Hij is gewoon de beste in de GP2. Ik weet nie hoe je nog meer klaar kan zijn.

      ....het is jammer dat al die grote topteams met opleidingen zo weinig doorstroom hebben op RBR na...of zorg voor een B-team waar je talenten kunt plaatsen zoals RBR ook doet....is ook leuker voor F1 en nieuwe gezichten doet de sport altijd goed. Ik gun het jullie dat Stoffel erin komt, maar ik hoop dat hij beter begeleid wordt dan Frijns...Manor krijgt ferrari motoren waarschijnlijk, molaren is bezet...tja, dan blijft er niet veel over...Force India??
