Imola vergaart regionale steun voor Grand Prix

Imola weet zich gesteund door de regio Emilia-Romagna in de pogingen om de Formule 1 terug naar het stadje onder de rook van Bologna te halen. Dat meldt Gazzetta dello Sport. Daarmee treedt Imola in de voetsporen van Monza, dat ook de lokale politiek achter zich heeft geschaard.

De regio Lombardije maakt zich namelijk hard voor het behoud van de Italiaanse Grand Prix op Monza. De president deed zelfs een oproep aan Ferrari om een standpunt in te nemen. Na een bijeenkomst met Sergio Marchionne verkondigde Roberto Maroni dat de Scuderia zijn lobby steunt.

Maar in Imola is de politiek zich ook met de zaak aan het bemoeien. Twee parlementariërs hebben een resolutie ingediend om steun van de regio Emilia-Romagna te garanderen en gunstige omstandigheden te creëren voor de organisatie van een Grand Prix.
